In one of Christ Jesus’ greater discoarses is that of Matthew 25 when I was hungry/thirsty/stranger/naked/ill/ect. you fed/ect. me. I would like very much to apply this to my life. I fear I am a bit timid though when approached by a homeless person asking for help and scurry off. Would there be anyone here that could enumerate some resources for which one could obtain to overcome such a dilemma?

When we travel through big cities (since we don’t encounter homeless in our suburban neighborhood), we try to plan ahead and have a package of granola bars (or something similar) in the bag.
It’s an easy way to help feed our neighbors without fear of money being used for something else…

Yopu can’t be expected to help every needy person in the world, or even all those who ask for it. A lot of people are very intimidated by beggars, and it is often very difficult to know what the beggar’s real situation is.
However you can give some money to Catholic charities that deal with homeless people, or if you are richer in time than in cash help out in a shop or soup kitchen.
