It was the both the natural (rhythm method etc) and the artificial (condoms, diaphragm etc). We don’t advocate the surgical methods (vasectomy or tubal ligation). The cost of providing the services were free (it was funded by a benevolent organization).

Even with perfect use, no contraception is 100% guarantee against pregnancy.

German study found 29 out of 32 condoms have carcinogen N-Nitrosamine:

Thew cost of providing the contraception was free? How can somebody not be paying for it? That money could instead be put into education and health care.

The above shows that the USA has had a total fertility rate averaging just under replacement rate since about 1972. Keep in mind that this is the TOTAL national TFR, which includes the babies immigrants have. As Little David noted, the total population HAS continued to increase, primarily due to immigration. Those immigrants tend to have much higher TFR, usually corresponding to the nations they came from for a generation or two. Without the babies of immigrants, the TFR since the 1970’s would be closer to Europe’s (1.6 - 1.8). Again, bare replacement rate is 2.1.

Growing up in the 1970’s, I can attest to this firsthand. School closings were EVERYWHERE, both private and public. And I grew up in flourishing suburbs too, not inner cities that were emptying out. We STILL had a lot of school closings in my youth. We were the start of the new contraceptive culture.

The head count doesn’t include only those who came in “legally.”

And no, the pop in MX is not declining, but it is becoming stagnant, and not because anybody is leaving. Contraception culture is on the move there, too.

Overpopulation is a fact because bio-capacity is finite. Perhaps the issue refers to the point when overpopulation takes place.

It is a myth.

We might have our own preferences, one person can state that they prefer an Earth with no more than 5 billion, or 3 billion. There are probably people out there that would prefer zero humans, or that they be the only people on Earth.

But those remain as personal preferences, nothing more.

The objective reality is that the Earth can never be overpopulated

By definition, there can be no more people on this planet than God actively chooses to ensoul.

There are some things that God allows to happen, but has no active part in. Sin is an example.

But that cannot be true for the creation of a human. It is not something that God simply allows to happen, but one that God must have an active part in. A human couple cannot create a new soul. Only God can do that.

Therefore, every single human born is a human that God actively desired and actively created.

So, by definition then, the number of humans on the plant is the number that God desires. Even then the number is LESS than God desires, as God does not desire that babies be aborted or anyone be murdered.

So no, there can not be any such thing as ‘overpopulation’.

Sounds like opinion to me. There is no evidence that God ceases his creative part under any real world conditions.
