Every time I try to pray and think about the future (being a monk, or trying to live a secular life) I get overwhelmed and resentful by the fact that there is this specific plan that God wants for me and I have to do it if I want to please him. I wanted to ask for your prayers, and that I would overcome pride and find what it is God wants me to do, but more importantly, that I wouldn’t be so proud of deluded that I would reject it.
Lately I’ve been really bitter and resentful about certain divine truths regarding hell and I realize I have been very proud. Ive come to realize I have so much pride, and it causes me to grumble and complain against God all the time. I just am really miserable right now and I wish there was confession tomorrow with my regular confessor because I just feel unstable and anxious about everything, and one moment I’m at peace with Christ and the next I want to punch a hole in the wall in anger.
One thing I wanted to ask: how do any of you get on without going to confession every week? I’ve been counseled to go once a month, but I can’t get through a week without doing something (usually mental or associated with gluttony or the first three commandments) that makes me unsure whether I should receive communion. I do have scrupulosity, but. Have all these other issues too, and it’s made me unable to discern what’s real.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

If you are healthy and have some skills, I think that a couple years in the Peace Core would be very good for spiritual growth or work a couple years - or - go to college for a couple years. Believe me, if your working hard or have yourself immersed in good works you will not be so overwhelmed, but shown your path as the Lord will it. I will pray for you. Peace.

Salutations,
Confession once a week was required when I was preparing to become a nun. Didn’t get there!
I will say this,"I regret not haVing got there to try.
Married, basically happily, four children and 10 grandchildren. But who are believers! Will my family all make it to heaven? There is a romantic side to our persona. Sometimes that is difficult to live as a celibate. We , the church, will be your children. You have a better success rate w your children then I did.
This is very important. Seminarians, usually, are banging their suitcases around when they, first, unpack. They didn’t want to be a priest. But, they knew God called them. They had girlfriends and had a different idea for their lives. They were angry to be called but knew they were. They settled in. One friend I have was an engineer, had a life, etc. He heard the priests sermon, that people would not be able to
Receive communion w the priests shortage. It pulled at his heart strings. He surrendered! He’s a very good priest. A sweet, Ecuadorian 10yrs old, made a Christmas card for him. It actually, said, how the Holy Spirit called him. He got that card at a moment of doubt. The next week, the sweet girl got killed in a mudslide. Moments of doubt are normal in any vocation or career choice. Saving souls! Children going to hell??! Where has God called you?
I feel that is the restlessness you feel you try to feed w gluttony and punching the wall. Hold your Bible on your chest. Slowly breathe iñ and out. Think, breathe in God’s love. Exhale anger. Picture your life saving souls. The world needs prayers. Our miliary need prayers. Do you need to change orders.
Become a military Chaplin?
Prayer:Abba, we need you so much. “I fall on my knees w my face to the rising sun, Oh, Lord have mercy on me” words from a song. Mercy, forgivessness, I am a sinner, Lord. Let me not fail you. Remove this restlessness. Let your call for me be clear. Enfold me in your love. I need you more now. Let me find that Blessed Assurance that you are mine and I am yours. Open my eyes Lord, that I may see you alive in my life. Psalm 54:?10. CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART OH. LORD. JEREMIAH 29 / 11. I HAVE A PLAN FOR YOU. IT IS A GOOD PLAN WITHOUT EVIL. IT HAS A FUTURE AND A PURPOSE.
THANK YOU, LORD, FOR HEALING MY RESTLESS SPIRIT. in Jesus name, Amen
I wrote the prayer as if from your lips. I prayed it for you from my lips. PM me, if you need more discussion.
Blessed Mother, continue our prayers to Jesus. Send your love to your child, who calls out in turmoil for a loving caress. Let him know you are near. You love our religious and want them to receive God’s love and yours. Thank you. in Jesus name, Tweedlealice

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (Bdonoho), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Sounds to me like you need a good spiritual director/confessor. I will keep you in my prayers. I understand how difficult it is to discern your vocation. I, too, felt called to the consecrated life. I was diagnosed at 9 month of age with epilepsy and I knew the church frowned on accepting people with this diagnosis. I told God when I was 7 he had to take care of my epilepsy if he wanted me to respond. At 26 I had brain surgery and no longer have seizures. I joined two different religious orders before discerning a call to the lay consecrated life. Praying for you!

Divine Mercy Chaplet

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

“I get overwhelmed and resentful”

Are you certain this is your vocation? When I determined mine, there was a Peace and at times of Joy…

If so, have you struggled with ‘rebellion’ in other areas of your life, such as work or school?

You are in my prayers.

Praying for your intention.

God’s plan is one of love and transformation. I would suggest not worrying about the future and focus on the here and now, living in God’s presence through prayer and Thanksgiving. You don’t have to have your whole life mapped out in advance. You can learn to trust God about the future even if you don’t think your life is going anywhere or know where it is going, God is always there with you and will not abandon you. He cares about you even the little things. He cares about how you feel and what you are going through. This is something he has shown me. He is not indifferent to our sufferings. He wants you to be happy and whole. He doesn’t want to ruin your life or to make you do something you don’t want to do. He is humble and meek of heart. He is long suffering, patient and kind. He is not out to get us and he holds no record of our wrongs. When he forgives us our slate is clean. He only wants what is best for us and what will truly make us happy. God bless.

TO KNOW ONE’S VOCATION

Lord Jesus,
up until now you have been quietly
preparing me to be your disciple.
Now the time of preparation is ending.
I seem to hear you say to me, as once to Peter;
“Will you also go away?”

You were saddened then by friends who failed you.
But Peter did not fail.
“Lord,” he said, “to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life.”

I stand with Peter.
Through prayer and counsel,
show me, Lord,
where it is in your vineyard
that you want me to serve.
Then give me strength to be faithful.

Mary, Mother and Model,
help me to respond in generous love
to the call of your Divine Son.

Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. You can still consider the vowed life despite being married. There is an aggregated institute in the church for married individuals who wish to have the vowed life. If you would like to consider such a group go to: www.hfiusa.org

The Holy Family Institute is group for the married, divorced, widowed who wish to profess vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience while still have all the rights of marriage. Poverty = simplicity, chastity = faithfulness to your spouse, obedience = respectful submission to each other (spouses) and to the church.
