A disturbing conference, inspired by the Amazon synod, in the presence of two Cardinals who commented approvingly, and “presided” over by the infamous Pachamamas, was held in Spain. Note, the blasphemous title of the article is intended as a positive one.
Some figures. Mother Earth. Life . They were stolen and thrown into the Tiber by the enemies of the Spirit. They were recovered, and attended the end of the historic Synod of the Amazon. These images of the Pachamama presided this afternoon the magnificent colloquium that, under the title ’ Prophecy or heresy?’ , gathered more than two hundred people in the auditorium of the Jesuits of Serrano.

The participants admit that the synod is pointing them in heretical directions, and even admit fear because of that, but despite all that are determined to move on because that is the alleged way of the Spirit.
For Berzosa, it has been “ a prophetic Synod, but the prophecy has something heretical , because it involves opening new paths, and many changes and conversions. It is not orthodox, it is not very formal, it is not very legislative… but the spirit is like that! ”

We need a “hammer of heretics” like the Chuch had throughout the ages…
 
And how does God accomplish his will? Isn’t it through his people?

Unfortunately just Spanish. If you have google Chrome and right-click, there is the option to translate to English (that’s what the quotes are–my Spanish is ok and they seem accurate to me).

It looks like the black bowl for offerings to Pachamama was at this meeting as well. It was previously placed on the altar of St. Peter’s. More on these bowls, and their ubiquitous association with the Pachamama rites here:


EDIT: It seems this has been going on for a while.

Someone in the comments on the article on Fr. Z’s site about the prayer in the booklet by the Italian bishops’ conference posted this link about a hymn to Pachamama sung in the Cathedral of Lima back in September:


Someone in another thread noted Cardinal Ravasi participated in a Pachamama rite in 2015 as part of the “Courtyard of the Gentiles.”

It’s seems none of this is new, at least in the Spanish-speaking world.
 
It seems like the Amazon synod should have been about how to lead the people away from such idolatry and syncretism…
 
We do. Knowing what our part to play, and then fulfilling it, is what we need to do.
 
This is probably some liberal, anti church, money financing these activities.

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, and now this. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m fresh out of things to say without getting into trouble here!!! Way, way beyond disturbing.

This is very perplexing. What could possibly be his motivation? Does he believe Pachamama is a real divinity who can be honoured along side Christ, Our Lady and the saints? Or does he believe that the cult of Pachamama can be incorporated into the cult of Mary? Or does he believe that all of them - Christ included - are just symbols? It’s very odd.
 
Yes the origin and history of the pachamama has to be talked about, and the Church make a formal decision on the morality of such a personage.

To refer to pachamama as a mere expression requires alot more depth!

And expression of what? And has that been the history of the name?

How come we arent hearing forms of education about the history and description of “pachamama” from those attempting to “incorporate” it into the Church’s worship?

That would take a very serious examination!

Is this bishop just expressing his imagination here?

Why is this Synod surrounded by scandal of pachamama?

We dont need to swallow this pachamama in order to have fellowship with Catholics. There are boundaries.

Are the people devoted to this thing that much?
