Padre Pio and Meditation

Hi can anyone tell me how did padre pio meditate, did he use discoursive meditation like igantian or something or did he use the rosary or something else?
 
I read somewhere(i forget) that St. Padre Pio had a deep devotion to the Rosary. He would say 1/3 when he woke up, before and after he ate, etc. If I could remember the site, id share the link, but I dont. I have yet to read any books of his, but there are many websites with stories of his life and how he lived.
