In a letter, Padre Pio spoke about out guardian angels, which each person has.

“O Raffaelina, how consoling it is to know that we are always under the protection of a heavenly spirit, who never abandons us, not even (most admirable fact!) in the very act by which we displease God!”

“Know, O Raffaelina, that this good angel prays for you… In the hours in which you seem to be alone and abandoned, do not complain about not having a soul-mate to whom you can open (your heart).”
 
Most of what I understand about the guardian angels is from a book by Bob and Penny Lord (may they rest in peace) called “Heavenly Army of Angels” and they reference St. Pio’s experiences with his guardian angel. They captured the intimacy and affection without making it seem sentimental or irreverent. The article shared some wonderful details that the Lords did not go into. Thank you for sharing it!
