In the church I pray every morning, there are sanctuaries where the faithful light up candles while praying. It’s a very warm and simple church that fills my heart daily.
Yet, I’ve found a few of times candles with images of African deities, which in some countries have mixed up with Catholicism (Sincretism, e.g., Santeria). I didn’t think it was nice of whoever lit them up in a Catholic church, thus I put them out and threw them in the basket along with other burnt candles.
Did I do right?
