Recently, my younger brother announced that he wasn’t going to celebrate Halloween due to its pagan influences. He was surprisingly adament and seemed disturbed that I still love October 31rst. Searching the web, I have come across some sites that seem to have a knee jerk fear of anything that was invented by pagans, including major holidays. Considering that Christianity didn’t invent human culture, it isn’t surprising that some modern traditions might have pagan influences.

**confetti **or rice at weddings, is a replacement for the tossing of grains of wheat and barley in pagan processions.
Wedding Rings -I did come across a SDA site that said that women should not wear wedding rings.
The names of the days of the weeks and months of the year
The Calender itself
**cement-**Romans invented cement
I am not certain about this one but wouldn’t** trousers** be a pagan invention? I think that it was the Gauls who introduced pants to the Romans, but I am not certain on this one.
I’ll try and expand my list, as I do more research. Maybe some of you could add to it.
