That is the whole point of Salvation History to show us how our ancestors screwed up so we can learn from it and not make the same mistakes. But humans are a bit slow they don’t understand so some are doomed to repeat history. But through all of this God keeps his Covenant Oaths it is men who keep screwing up. But the good news is that if you repent and are truly sorry convert your life you may be forgiven.

These are all Old Testament quotes. The Church did not exist in Old Testament times.

OK, I’m 53. I can (barely) remember the pre-Vatican 2 Latin Mass. I have attended all sorts of Masses in the U.S., Canada and Europe. I have attended Mass with liturgical dancers, with Gregorian chant boy choirs, with tambourines, with the mighty organ; with hands up, down and all around; with ‘round the altar’ and with kneeling at the altar rail. . .

And I have never, repeat never, seen a Mass where we ‘praised the gods of gold, and silver, of brass, of iron, or wood, and of stone.’ Fact is, the only God we’ve ever praised is the Almighty and Ever-Living God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

hi truth seeker. lets see if im getting this right. are you trying to say we are pagans because we have reprentations of the saints in our Church, and that we are pagans because we use a communal cup? remember, the Israelites had representations in their own temple. the candlestants the ARK, the incense etc. also the priest wore specific uniforms, in the function of their priestly duties. not to mention the gold and silver vessels were set aside for a holy and specific purpose. also in the Church we can have a chalice of earthenware as well as gold or silver. do not see how these things are pagan. please explain. thank you, and peace.

Seeker, I suggest you be clearer when giving Biblical verses – what you mean and why you quote them. Flooding your posts with verses will not bring forth your argument – anybody can do that. If you disagree with Catholicism, say what you disagree with so that we can address your concerns, if we can.

In one of your threads, I asked you what you had in mind when asking the questions you posed. The idea is so that we can effectively and economically dealt with them, one at a time.

It seems you have originated quite a number of threads today; it’s better if you focus on a few at a time and get to the bottom of your queries, otherwise it looks like you’re spamming the Forum and I think the Mods will not be too happy with that.

Have a fruitful time at the Forum and use it wisely.
