Stop preaching that Catholicism is Pagan in origin! You Protestants can easily fall into pseudo-history.
thanks I was gonna put that up but you beat me to it…
I hope that all SDA read this, and can see the truththanks I was gonna put that up but you beat me to it…
NOTE: I know that not all Protestants believe the lie that connects Catholicism with Paganism. There are some who do. So this thread for them.
Thank you for acknowledging this fact. The truth is, if Catholicism is linked to paganism, then so is all western, and probably all Christianity. There is no avoiding the common heritage we all share in the early, undivided Church.NOTE: I know that not all Protestants believe the lie that connects Catholicism with Paganism. Not that I agree with these statements that you are trying to prevent… all I got is this:Stop preaching that Catholicism is Pagan in origin! You Protestants can easily fall into pseudo-history.
OMG. I got my good gut buster in for the night. Thanks for it!Manny, did you notice that out of the 8 posts in this thread that you started, 5 of them are yours? LOL![]()
Good point. Who does the poster think is accusing him of Paganism? This whole premise of over-posting and gang attacking is really becoming redundant and it never was helpful for anyone.Thank you for acknowledging this fact. You are correct. Why deny Pagan influences. They are clearly all around us today. Some things are only obvious.Thank you for acknowledging this fact. Let me know where I can gets a magical peeper stone, so’s I can get to divining some treasure. You are correct. Why deny Pagan influences. They are clearly all around us today. Some things are only obvious.
For example, Eostre, the pagan goddess of fertility celebrated by the Anglo-Saxons in spring was combined with the Christians resurrection of Jesus in spring to become our holiday Easter today. Hello… bunny rabbits and eggs?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eostre
Another example:
The title “Pontifex Maximus” was the high priest of the Ancient Roman College of Pontiffs. This pagan title goes back as far as 700 BC. As Rome took control of the Christian Church, this title replaced prophets and apostles or the head bishop – becoming the pontiff or pope.

Me thinks he protests entirely too much. It is obvious for for anyone wo takes an objective look.Manny, did you notice that out of the 8 posts in this thread that you started, 5 of them are yours? LOL![]()
There’s “Freedom of Speech” (which I might add is not really “freedom” of speech any more), and then there’s slander. Think about it.Not that I agree with these statements that you are trying to prevent… all I got is this:
Just a reminder…
First Amendment - Religion and Expression
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
UN The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Article 19
“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.”
“you Protestants” are probably not the audience for this forum and this general accusation assumes all Protestants hold this viewpoint so everything about this statement is wrong. Why not choose the specific allegation made by a specific non-Catholic apologist, and debate it on the apologetics forum, rather than making mass accusations against an entire group of people who are not even here.Stop preaching that Catholicism is Pagan in origin! You Protestants can easily fall into pseudo-history.
Ok… Thought about it…There’s “Freedom of Speech” (which I might add is not really “freedom” of speech any more), and then there’s slander. Think about it.
