More of a “why bother talking to these people”

hater’s gonna hate…

Disappointing, but not surprising at all, that the OP was allowed to denigrate and make fun of a spiritual path with absolutely no consequences whatsoever, for 3 pages, on a forum that states Zero Tolerance of such acts.

As a previous poster noted, I supposed it’s all fine and good because it’s a non-Christian faith being denigrated. This is why I seldom come on these forums anymore. Zero Tolerance seems to only apply to non-Catholics/Christians. Impunity with a caplital “I”. 🤷

“Just a reminder:
If your purpose in posting on the NCR forum is to proselytize, your account will be closed.”

I honestly don’t see any other reason for the OP to have posted this question. Pagans are wrong, your gods are impotent, therefore, come over to the “right” side. And if you don’t come over to the right side, I’ll just keep making fun of you and posting more stuff to prove how wrong you are. Then maybe you’ll come over to the “right” side.

I had hope that things were changing a bit here when Francis became Pope. He is a wonderful, wonderful leader. But I can see that not everyone follows his example. That’s unfortunate. 😦

I briefly considered jumping into conversation, but it’s apparent that nothing good will come of it

I know you did, JC, and it was appreciated. It’s just frustrating to have been reading these forums over time and noting the number of non-Christians who are banned for offenses much less than the OP’s, yet witness the complete lack of consequences here in this thread. I know that not all posts are policed, but there are a great many non-Christians who used to be avid posters and, for the most part, extremely charitable. Now they are gone, for offenses much less significant.

The weeding out seems to continue.

Made you look. 🙂

And yet, and yet, no one has really bothered to explain or defend the idea that the “god”, Pan, may have actually died. The answers were:
  1. You can’t really trust Plutarch. Maybe Pan is still alive.
  2. Pan is not part of my pantheon, so I don’t care.
Folks, if your god is not the supreme creator of the universe and/or if he, she or it is not immortal, why bother? 🤷

Puny gods are not worthy of your time and attention because you were created in the image and likeness of a greater God than these.

Shoot the messenger all you want. I’m just trying to get you to think bigger.

My God loves you more and has better plans for you than your own god does.

I’m glad you mentioned that, because I have observed that pattern as well, but thought perhaps I was just being sensitive.

I concluded that the rules on the Non Catholic Religions forum, must be meant for the non Catholics and I try to behave accordingly.

RC, why do you feel you are above the rules on this forum? I have reported you, not that I think it will do any good.

I’m not. I report myself from time to time and ask for guidance from the mods just to be sure I haven’t crossed a line. Yes, I have been suspended and temporarily banned from a sub-forum in the past. I get infractions just like everyone else.

This thread is pretty close to the edge; I admit that.

But look, even the men of Athens complained that the apostle Paul was proclaiming that the Athenian gods were no gods at all. I took an aggressive stance in this thread to be sure, but so did GK Chesteron who made the same argument long before me.

Instead of worrying about me personally, why not offer an argument as to why I’m wrong?

I mean, this IS an apologetics forum…presumably, that’s why YOU’RE here, too. 🙂
