The people of all kinds of religions are helping the people of Pakistan.

I have seen on the TV aid distribution being done through orgs supported by groups known as terrorist organisations.

We should all consider giving in money and prayer and thank God people are working side by side for a common cause of helping those in need regardless to politics and religion.

Anita, thank you for this reminder about an important issue. The floods in Pakistan have been described as the worst natural disaster in the past century.

I have read that Pakistanis in the US have discouraged donating to the Pakistan government because those donations may not reach the persons suffering from the flood. And as Anita mentioned, there is also concern that some organizations may benefit terrorists.

I think Caritas is a reliable organization to donate to. It is a Vatican-run umbrella organization of over 100 national organizations. It is providing water, food, shelter, medical care and hygiene facilities.

In the long term, Caritas will work with communities to identify infrastructure, such as roads, bridges and irrigation channels, that needs to be rebuilt. By doing this it will reconnect people to markets and other services.

Caritas is seeking donations to provide this aid. You can donate online from anywhere in the world. Although the donations are measured in Euros, you can donate from any country with a credit card (Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, American Express).

To give you an idea of the current exchange rate, 100 euros = $127 US

Other exchange rates can be quickly calculated at XE.com

The Taliban has sworn to attack and kidnap foreign aid workers in Pakistan. So, yeah, sorry, not wasting my money. Let the terrorists feed them and build them shelters.

The floods in Pakistan and before it the Indian ocean tsunami which have claimed lots of lives (death toll +227K) and made millions homeless, not to mention the billions of economical damages.

I sometimes wonder if the flood during Noah’s time was that huge and claimed that much lives and damages

I’m asking that because I believe such huge floods should not happen any more because of the flood covenant with GOD (the rainbow) after Noah’s flood.

Genesis 9:13-16
I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."

I see the message of the Noah story as God will not wipe out human kind by flood again.

I respect some will not donate because they fear the money will not go where it is intended but as a poster here offered they have trust in Caritas.

We can easy do some research to find out if the charity we donate to will distribute or have your kindness distributed for them.

I think it was a very good thing people were working together.

For our house we donated to a Christian charity Caritas, an Islamic charity Muslim aid Australia and a secular charity World vision.

We have faith that from what we donated if even only one dollar goes toward helping some one He can do great things from it multiplying the intention.

We trust God and believe withholding from fear (uncertainty) would not be good stewardship.

But as said to each his own so if God tells you not to give best you dont.

Hail Mary, full of grace, blessed art Thou
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour. of our death. Amen.

I caused some problems for some one in another thread so i am leaving the forum. Best wishes to you all and God bless

Anita, may I ask that you reconsider leaving CAF? Perhaps you can take a vacation and come back later. Or, perhaps, read the messages but refrain from posting until you are ready.

I’m not sure what problem you might have caused for another person. Is it something the moderator can straighten out? Or, if you mean someone became angry with what you posted, well that happens all the time here. If someone loses their cool and verbally lets loose on another member, they have anger management problem. Its not the fault of the person who is the recipient of the anger.

I think your voice is valuable, and I would be sad to see you go.

May G-d bless the generosity of giving in prayer.

May G-d bless the generosity of giving in material.

May G-d bless the world with the love we all share.

Good thread CAF God bless all who give to the thread to keep it top of the list, its constructive and encouraging.

We pray and help all people…God bless the Pakistani people…

I think Caritas is the most secured way to donate to the people of Pakistan.
Let us pray to Jesus and Mary to help those people…
