is there an ap tht will import the catholic calendar to my palm calendar?
or can you use import Pope B16s facebook calendar?

Oh my! I’m not a Pre user yet (I’m not eligible until Jan for the $150 rebate and we’re not walking out with a $500 phone), but how are you liking it? I currently have a Treo and am becoming increasingly unsatisfied with the design (connection issues for recharging and syncing, mostly). Do you have the touchstone recharger and do you think it’s worth the extra to get it?

I don’t have the toughstone. $70 just to avoid the plog cord isn’t worth it to me.

I will say I think the flow is very good on the touch screen. Much better than I thought it woudl be and fairly quick to respond. The syncing is simple and also fairly quick. I like that I don’t have to dig under layers for everything. I LOVE the calendar and memo/tasks options. It’s very user friendly. At least for me. I’ve had no problem figuring out what does what and how to work it without ever opening the manual.

I love that it can multitask very well. For example, I was listening to music via pandora, testing hubby, looking at my calendar, got notification of new email, and adding contact info all at the same time. wayyyyyyyy awesome. no clitches or pauses or freezing either.

oh a small design flaw - the mircophone is on the top bottom right of the silver button. which means if you are multitasking, you are constantly covering the mouthpiece because you slide your finger from right to left of the sensor there (that silver button) and your hand kind of naturally covers it when holding it to your ear too. once you figure out why all your buddies are saying you are cutting out on them, it’s only a minor pain. I think putting it on bottom edge of the top slide would have been better and much less likely to be obstructed during normal use.

Despite all that though, I might have to take it back or change carriers. No matter where I go in or out of the house, I can’t get more than 1 signal strength bar. 😦 So rather often, I’m in the middle of a conversation and the call is dropped. HUGE big pain in the bum that all the awesomeness of it’s features cannot make up for.

my fil has a iphone and I think it stinks compared to the flow of this palm pre.

BUT the major drawback for some is that the pre has almost no aps yet and other than Pandora, the ones they have are kind lame. I have no idea why they released it with almost none of the most popular palm ap available for it yet. yes they are in the pipeline, but I think some regular palm users are just going to wait until they see the aps are available before getting a pre.

Us? well our service with another carrier was stinking and we got an awesome deal on this thing. for $130 a month we are getting full unlimited service on 2 pres and one samsung (I forget what kind) and we got the phones free to nearly free. Previously we had a very limited phone service and our 3rd cell had quit working. Our previous provider was offerring an awesome deal for blackberries, but only to new customers. So we decided we get a better deal as new customers with sprint than customers of 6 years with that other place. Dh needs a palm/blackberry for work purposes and wanted to be able to share those functions with me. (for example, I can share my calendar with him!) The 3rd cell is for the kids to share when they are not with us. Personally I’d perfer to give 3 quarters, but payphones are pretty scarce these days and many people don’t have landlines or assume everyone has a cell phone, so a kid wihtout a cell is pretty much deserted.

I’ll let you know if I get more bars somehow.

**I really hope I do because I’m loving this phone. **
