Who’s looking forward to it?

Benedictus qui venit in nominee Domine.
Hosanna in excelsis.

I’m thinking of taking a donkey to town.

I am really looking forward to it. Palm Sunday is the last day of a women’s retreat I’ll be participating in. It’s a women’s silent spiritual exercises retreat. It been a while since I’ve been to a retreat as a participant rather than team.

Personally, I’m looking forward to all of Lent first.

After all, Christ has already come. I might be in the minority, but to me, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, and all of Eastertide are bigger liturgical celebrations than Palm Sunday.

That’s not to deminish Palm Sunday, but I rarely think I ever look forward to Palm Sunday, as I look forward to Lent and Easter.

God Bless

I’d love a donkey, and if my wish is granted I, too, will take it to town! Hosanna!

In some rural areas of the Philippines, the Procession to the Church from the chapel of ease where the palms are blessed for the Palm Sunday Mass, involves the priest celebrant, in his cope, riding a horse. Elderly women would spread cloaks over the road.

That’s great. It gives a visual of what the priest does for us. He acts
as sacrificial victim. He is an extension of Christ’s representative on
Earth.

Same for washing of the feet ceremonies.

Do what you can to conserve Catholic tradition in your geo.
