Palms of Praise

Into the village Jesus sends two
A prophet’s word has come to pass

“Hosanna to the Son of David,” the people cry
Spreading garments and branches as he passes by

The multitudes of the city were stirred and shaken
In the presence of divinity, soon to be forsaken
One day, a great multitude shall sing psalms
Before the throne of the “King of Kings” holding palms
Arrayed in white robes, every tribe, tongue, and nation
Joyfully praising the “Lamb of God,” for their Salvation!

Filled with the “Holy Spirit,” we shall renew the face of the earth. Praise God!!!

Which is exactly how we should be when we say (or preferably sing) the “Holy, Holy, Holy” (or Sanctus). We should greet the coming of the King in the Mass with the same zeal as the Jews prepared for His entry into Jerusalem. Of course, our zeal should persevere a tad bit longer than the good Jews on the walls of Jerusalem.

Note: if our zeal can’t be displayed in our actions at the Mass, it should at least reside in our hearts as we anticipate the Consecration!!!
