An interesting little story from The Scotsman, entitled **Papal aide warns of ‘Islamisation of Europe’. **

Hey sports fans… is the writing on the wall any clearer? A resurgent Catholic Church allied with the various Eastern Orthodox, together defending Christian Europe against, as Monsignor Gaenswein put it; *Islam not being a single force but a religion of extremes, with extremists who “turn to rifles for their goals”. *

Let’s all just hope it’s not too late…

Here’s the article;

The principal aide to Pope Benedict XVI has issued a stark warning over the danger of the “Islamisation of Europe”. Monsignor Georg Gaenswein speaks with the full authority of the Catholic Church about a Muslim domination of Europe. He made it clear that Europe’s Christian roots are under threat from a resurgent Islam. He also spoke of Islam not being a single force but a religion of extremes, with extremists who “turn to rifles for their goals”.

His comments come just a year after the newly appointed Pope enraged Muslims worldwide with a speech linking Islam with violence. It led to churches being burned in the West Bank, a nun being shot dead in a Somalian hospital and the Iranian president accusing him of being in league with the US president, George Bush, to “repeat the Crusades” of old.

But Mgr Gaenswein has defended Pope Benedict’s speech, saying it was an attempt by the Pontiff to “act against a certain naivety”. Vatican watchers say this is clearly aimed at western governments who bend over backwards to accommodate Muslims at cost to their own native Christian cultures.

This is an extremely important issue.

The birthrate of Christians in Europe is so low that unless things change, and change soon, the Vatican City and St. Peters in Rome may end up like St. Sophia’s in Istanbul.

Look at the French riots? Issues of religious articles and clothing? other things in the news… Islam has spread throughout southeastern Asia, has permanently overrun the ancient Christian cities, swept through much of Africa, has routinely knocked at Europe’s doorstep, and continues. He hopes for a return to Europe’s Christian roots – although the other issue with Europe, perhaps more evasive is secularism, which he has also brought up on many occasions.

Some European cities are HEAVILY dominated by Islamic politics. Stories appear in the secular press all the time.

Yet, there is hope. Cafeteria is Closed is running an interview of Monsignor Gaenswein published in a German newspaper.

closedcafeteria.blogspot.com/2007/07/interview-with-msgr-gaenswein.html

Here are a few samples regarding Islam and Europe:

Monsignor Gaenswein: I find the Regensburg speech, as it was given, to be prophetic.

Peter Seewald: Was the shock great when the angry attacks from the Islamic world became known ?

Monsignor Gaenswein: We only heard of the crude reactions after we’d gotten back to Rome from Bavaria. It was a big surprise, to the Pope as well. The mighty trouble had started due to newspaper reports which had taken one quote out of context and presented it as the Pope’s personal opinion.

Peter Seewald: In Islam, where it is in charge of state and society, human rights are being constantly violated. (“kicked with feet”) The persecution of Christians has increased drastically. The President of Iran announced again that the countdown to the destruction of Israel had begun. Is the condept of a real dialog with Islam not a bit too naive?

Monsignor Gaenswein: The attempts at Islamization of the West cannot be put aside. The danger for the identity of Europe that is connected to it must not be ignored for reasons of a wrongly understood respect. The Catholic sides sees it very clearly and talks about it. Especially the Regensburg speech should counter a certain naivete (“blue-eyedness”). One thing has to be pointed out - there is no Islam as such, no voice that ties all Muslims together and leads them. There are many different currents, often at war with each other, up to extremists that claim the Koran for their actions and go to work with guns. On an institutional level, he Holy See tries to make contacts and lead dialogs via the Papal Council for Interreligious Dialog.

Peter Seewald: The French philosopher Rene Girard, member of the Academie francaise, is predicting a decisive Christian Renaissance. According to him, we are at the “eve of a revolution of our culture.” This change is supposed to make the Renaissance of the 15th century pale by comparison.

Monsignor Gaenswein: The religious element enjoys an attention it hasn’t had in years. After a phase of indifferentism, people once more concern themselves with religion, questions of faith. I see that especially young people who have everything or could have everything, realize: One can do anything, one can even destroy the world - but one can’t win the soul, when the essential is missing. The Catholic Church has treasures to offer that no one else can offer. Greater and more enduring than all politicial offers of “salvation.” But, that doesn’t happen automatically. Faith comes from being heard, as Saint Paul says, it has to be proclaimed.

For a good readable history, please read The Fight for Jerusalem, Radical Islam, the West, and the Future of the Holy City by Dore Gold.

The radical Islamo-fascists are trying to bring about (their version) of Armageddon and the arrival of the 12th Imam or Madrah. They believe they can help this along via violent attacks. One of the things that must happen (according to their story) is the destruction of Jerusalem. The US is also on the list. They are gearing up for attacks. Ironically, this isn’t even in the Koran, according to the book.**Pray, pray, pray **for the conversion of many and that our government will be able to thwart their destructive plans.

I sincerely think overturnign Roe v Wade will help save us all.

Peace!

Timley for me. Just beginning Belloc’s book on the 1st Crusade.

the big problem is the sissification of men in our western culture. we bend over backwards not only for the muslims, but for the nazi-feminsts, the homosexual agenda, and to atheistic secularism.

we’re not here to go milk toast and to be wimps. catholics are supposed to lay our lives down for eachother.

this may mean fighting and sending these fanatical muslims back to mecca.

Yes, “they” see any withdrawal or appeasement as weakness and will claim a great victory for their side.

Unfortunately, the UN seems to always want to try appeasement, ceding land to Palestinians, dviding up Jerusalem, and it just ends up helping the Muslim militants gain a foothold to do more damage.
