When my mom recently passed, we found a small medal in her jewelery box that was from a public visit she and my dad attended years ago. It has the image of Blessed Pope John XXIII on it. I assume that the Pope blessed it, though I don’t know that for sure. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the medals Popes give out and if the late Pope is later cannonized does that make the medal a relec?
Thanks for any help.

I would recommend having the medal blessed, just to make sure. If Blessed John XXIII is later Canonised, that will not make the medal a relic.

Thanks for your reply GoLatin. I think I will have it blessed again. Only reason I was asking about it being a relic or not is that would determine how I stored it.
