In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 1361 states:
Code:
The Eucharist is also the sacrifice of praise by which the Church sings the glory of God in the name of all creation.

We children were taught about the Eucharist. However we did not learn the beautifully written statement above. I have re-read it slowly. It is a lesson in itself.

What are your thoughts?

The word “Eucharist” means “Thanksgiving”. Through the Eucharist, we thank God for His creation and His sacrifice. Next time you’re at Mass, listen to the Eucharistic prayer intently (whichever one it should be) and pray it silently with the priest - each Eucharistic prayer truly is a chant of praise (seriously - it’s preferable that the prayers are chanted or even sung by the priest instead of simply spoken). And, the faithful are asked to pray the Eucharistic prayers silently as the priest prays them aloud.
