So this just got me thinking about some stories I heard about saints and stuff when I was a wee lil’ lad…

I’ve heard stories of saints being able to levitate, fly, use bilocation, and heal… Are these actually true stories or are they just “stories.”

I mean I know today in the modern era I’ve heard of miracles happening where that one terminally ill woman in France was healed on a pilgrimage a couple years back… But I don’t see any Catholics flying around the world or walking around in two different places at the same time…

Are these stories true? Or are they just made up?

That is your decision to make my friend. It is outside the deposit of faith and therefore you are not required in any way to believe it. I find that some stories may have been exaggerated and aren’t really good examples to use in converting someone. However, there are also miracles which I find inspiring and helpful to my faith (for example the Eucharistic miracle at Lanciano). So, yes you can believe in it, but you could be wrong. So, just take all these stories with a grain of salt.

My impression is that these events do not involve things saints were able to “do,” if you mean “do at will” but things God did in their lives for His purpose. You also are able to do everything he intends for you to do in your life as a result of His power working in you. Whether it is save the world or heal one heart.
