Are the indulgences assigned to the Pardon Crucifix by Pope St. Pius X still valid and are the indulgences assigned to religious medals still valid also? And do you still gain them by the necessary conditions?

If the indulgences for the Pardon Crucifix are still valid, I also have another question. I got a pamphlet talking about the indulgences gained from having a pardon crucifix, but the crucifix had to be blessed by the priest with a sign of the cross to make all the indulgences available. I’m not sure if my priest blessed the crucifix with a sign of the cross, but he did say a blessing over it. Is this ok?

I don’t think the indulgence has been withdrawn, in other words I think it is still valid.

Try finding one though. I have searched far and wide for an example - new or vintage - without luck.

Everything I’ve ever had blessed by a priest has always been done with a small cross movement over the object made by the hand… it can be a very subtle movement sometimes, maybe you missed it? When I was in Europe last year I loved it when the priest also blessed me at the same time.

Here ya go: sistersofcarmel.com/metal-crucifixes.php

It’s where I got mine.

They’ll even have it blessed by their priest before they send it. I love getting things from them for this reason. They are also the only place I ever found a St. Genevieve medal.

Thanks so much for that reference. Good price range too I notice.

Yeah, they’re reasonable for most things, have an array of items, and as I found they have QUITE the selection of medals. (Now if I could just find someone with a St. Genevieve statue!) They have great customer service too.
