I just learned today that my parents are getting a divorce
this is very hard for me to deal with. My family has been through some hard times but I never expected this to happen. Itâs almost happened a few times, but it seems now itâs for real.
For some reason, I feel kind of numb, like I donât even want to talk about it with my friends, which is unusual, and I donât have any brothers or sisters I could talk to.
What really makes me sad is how much anger there is at home and how my parents canât seem to forgive each other. Iâm scared about that⊠Iâve been praying for so long that weâd be a happy family, and go to church together, but my family never goes to church (I just go alone). Iâve been praying for a while for them to return to the Sacraments (theyâre actually Eastern Orthodox, and Iâm Catholic) but I donâ t know if it will happen now. Iâm scared theyâll never forgive each other, to be honest.
I also donât know what the future would be like⊠I was planning to move out soon, when I graduate, but now I dont know, cause mom would be alone. We donât have any relatives living nearby⊠and I have no idea where the money is going to come from. I just feel really bad about everything. And my dad, he hates his job, but he stayed in it for the family, but now there wonât be a family. I donât know what will happen to ANY of us.
Iâm also worried about my relationship with my mom, she blamed me for a lot of what happened, and then told me that Iâm reacting to this wrong, I should be happy that now thereâll be more peace, and that my prayers âwonât help me.â But I believe in prayer, and Iâm praying. I just pray that even though my parents will be divorced, theyâll still forgive one another, and not hold on to any hatred or anger.
Iâd appreciate prayers very much⊠I really donât want to complain, but I donât know who to say all this to, and I feel like my lifeâs so messed up right now, not only in terms of family but in many other ways either. Nothing is really going right⊠I feel like all I have is God, really. Iâm glad Heâs always with us
thank you :hug1: and Iâm sorry this got so long.
