Naturally, you are a catholic and from what I have gathered from these forums over the years, you have good morals and ethics. I was referring to liberal minded folks, I know quite a few of them from school and work and not one of them likes the idea of having some kind of moral policing, (some agency or group trying to set standards on what is moral/ immoral) when it comes to movies, tv, music, etc.What people? I’ve stayed away from a lot of media because those ratings mean something. And I’ve never gotten used to the slow, gradual poisoning of the human mind over the years. For me, most media is poisonous. Some more than others. Movies in particular.

As an adult I won’t be seeing this film either.I’ve seen this mentality a lot in certain circles and frankly, I disagree. This ignores the fact that children and adults consume media differently. Adults can handle certain nuances that children can’t. Children are just forming their view of the world, and they are impressionable. I wouldn’t show “Braveheart” to a five year old, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong for me to watch it.
The world is messy, and there’s nothing wrong with art reflecting that. Do children need to be exposed to that messiness before they are ready? No. But it’s certainly not a sin for an adult to decide they want to watch something that children in general shouldn’t.
I agree it would be sad if this were marketed towards kids. I’ve seen no toys related to this movie, nor have I seen it advertised in kid-focused venues.Thanks. Rotten Tomatoes. Avoid that site. Go to the IMDB - Internet Movie Data Base. It’s really sad to see toys for kids turn into this. I certainly hope parents won’t be buying Logan related toys for their kids. The trailer alone tells me all I need to know.

The claim that an R rating allows them to do a more “adult” film is nonsense. It would have been more effective as a PG-13 film minus the un-needed gore and language.
Since the ratings make no sense anymore and no one really pays attention it doesn’t really matter. I don’t know a single parent including myself who would draw a line between pg 13 and R.Heads up: The new Wolverine movie is rated R for extreme violence and profanity. Fortunately, some theater chains are issuing advisories.
Please don’t bring small kids to this R-rated movie.
I agree, I watched one of the recent Avengers movies last night and I eventually turned it off, the superheros of today have really become strange.My kids won’t see it because it’s dumb, not because of an immoral and inconsistent ratings system.

I feel bad now, because I saw it and it was very violent; more so than I would like. But the ending didn’t strike me as sacrilegious and perhaps it should have. Though even now, thinking about it, I feel like sacrilegious is a bit strong. Yes, the closing image of the movie is actively anti-Christian. (Non-spoiler hint: The wedding scene in "The Graduate.) Also keep in mind that- and correct me if I’m wrong- one of the reasons why this movie is rated R is because fans were displeased with the way that Wolverine and some of the other x men were portrayed in previous Wolverine movies, and therefore wanted to make a movie that portrayed a more violent Wolverine so that they could give the fans what they wanted to see.I respect your decision not to see the film, but I think it’s a little unfair to pass judgement on the way the violence and language fit into the film without having seen it.
