Parish At Risk Of Excommunication

A heretical parish is about to be excommunicated from the Catholic Church.

The Catholic parish of St Mary’s, South Brisbane, has been notorious for its continued liturgical abuses and doctrinal errors.

The parish administrator Father Peter Kennedy allows women to preach and homosexual couples can have their relationships blessed.

In one parish bulletin, the Eucharistic Prayer was changed to includes the following:
‘We bring wine, made by many people’s work, from an unjust world where some have leisure and most struggle to survive’.

And the Memorial Acclamation:
I am Inner Stillness Deep within I am I am conscious Presence Deep within I am I am Pure Love Deep within I am.

'In the sacrament of Eucharist members of the congregation recite the words of consecration, which only an ordained priest are allowed to do.

Approved Eucharistic prayers are completely overlooked in favour of eucharistic prayers selected at random.

I don’t understand why the “parish” needs to be excommunicated. The BISHOP needs to get the administrator outta there – and to provide an orthodox pastor.

Is your bishop aware that this is going on? Have you pleaded with him?

There needs to be a new pastor who needs to screen all lay volunteers – especially those involved as catechists, cantors and music directors, lectors, and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion – and re-commission only those who fully accept the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church.

Parishioners who object can continue to object until they’re blue in the face, and/or leave the parish.

Yes, the bishop knows and has given them fair warning, so it’s about time. By the way, these people have already excommunicated themselves by their disobedience, the Archbishop would just be publicly clarifying that they have done so.

As long as the Church owns the premises, I seriously doubt he’d be doing more than removing Fr Kennedy and his followers. And you’re right, that would probably be a prelude to installing a new pastor.

It’s not like the Archdiocese would just lay down and hand over the church property to Kennedy and his supporters for them to continue to hold their services in, after all.

Several years I think.
But it wasn’t until someone wrote to the Vatican who then put pressure on the bishop

Not sure - but I do know the Bishop wrote to them late in August and gave until this weekend as the deadline to shape up. We’ll see what happens.

That’s not that long. I was hoping that it was not too long this has been going on.

We should pray they come to their senses very soon, and before the deadline, but of course, anytime would be better than later.
