Parish Booklets

[derekohachey]

Hi there,

I heard on an old podcast of CAL that there were Catholic booklets available as a parish resource? Does anyone know what these booklets are entitled?

If I recall, these booklets were used for enhancing one’s catechetical and scriptural understanding.

Thanks,
Derek

You could help us help you by defining your acronyms. I looked up CAL at acronymfinder.com and did not find any likely candidates.

When you say CAL, I take you mean Catholic Answers Live. My favorite radio show.

You can get the booklets at the “shop” section on www.catholic.com .

These booklets and tracts are great to leave on tables at your parish. You will be surprised at how many people pick them up and take home to read after Mass. I go through hundreds every year and they are really enexpesive.

I recomend starting out with the “Tract Pack” and “Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Faith”. The “tract pack” is one hundred and twenty tracts of various topics that explain and defend Catholic teachings using the Church Fathers, and Sacred Scriptures. It cost about thirty dollars or so. “Pillar of fire, pillar of Faith” is a booklet that defends and explains the Catholic Church. It only cost one dollar per booklet and is the best booklet I’ve ever read.

Also…

Another great resource, although more expensive, is buying a cd stand from Lighthouse Catholic Media. You can go to their website for details. We have one at our parish and it has been very successful.

Hope that helps answer your question.

Thanks folks, yes by CAL, I meant Catholic Answers Live.

I will check out the Tract Pack, but I think that the folks on the show were referring to something else.

God Bless
Derek

I found the booklets… the advertisments were referring to the “Catholic Truth Society”.

Here is the web site:
