A parish nearby us has lost their pastor to cancer. Apparently, this is something like the third priest they have lost before they get settled in. My pastor asked us to pray for them when he overheard one of the ladies said to another at the funeral- “They always leave us”. Our diocese is hurting because of the shortage of priests. Please join me in praying that they will find a new permanent pastor.

Indeed, and let us also pray for more priests in general! Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of thy Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee;
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

praying that a priest is found to satisfy the parish’s needs

praying that a new priest will be assigned and be good for this parish.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Send them, O Lord, a true shepherd who will gather the sheep, not by cruelly driving them to common ruin, but by calling them to the sheepfold of the Church…send a shepherd, not one who strikes, but one who nourishes; not one who injures, but who defends; not one who spurns, but who seeks; not one who plunders, but bestows…not a proud man, but a humble man; not a cruel man, but one who is meek. Protect them. They are Your people, the work of Your hands, Who are blessed forever. Amen.

-This was the last prayer of St. John Chrysologus for the people of his diocese.

St. John Vianney, intercede for this parish and help them to obtain a good priest to replace the pastor they lost. Amen.

And for their priest who died: Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
