Send them, O Lord, a true shepherd who will gather the sheep, not by cruelly driving them to common ruin, but by calling them to the sheepfold of the Church…send a shepherd, not one who strikes, but one who nourishes; not one who injures, but who defends; not one who spurns, but who seeks; not one who plunders, but bestows…not a proud man, but a humble man; not a cruel man, but one who is meek. Protect them. They are Your people, the work of Your hands, Who are blessed forever. Amen.

God our Father,
You reveal your omnipotence in the superabundance of your mercy, poured forth into the world through the sacred wounds of your Son and our Redeemer.

Jesus, I continue to beg You to have mercy on this parish. Please grant them the grace of a new pastor, one who will be sensitive to all their needs. If it is Your will, please grant that this one will be able to stay for a good while, getting to know his parishioners and his parishioners gaining trust in Him. Please usher the former pastor into Your Presence as soon as possible if he is in purgatory, and pray for the diocese of Cleveland which is now starting to feel the shortage of priests that has plagued many other areas. Jesus, we trust in You!
