God bless you Cathryn!!! May the Lord continue to smile upon you! I know one woman (whom I believe has an evil spirit) who still receives Reikie treatment even over the phone. She swears by it and she is Catholic. Our priest told her about it being wrong (gave her the book on Moira Noonan)…and she still does not listen. She has these eyes of hers every so often. The evil is very well present.

We need more witnesses like you to proclaim the truth to the many who question the occultism of Reiki.🙂
It wasn’t until I was taught Reiki II that the full impact of aligning my chakras and the secret sacred symbols hit me. We were not taught what it means or how it works. We were assured however that it is compatible with any belief system.
Code:
When I was initiated about 14 years ago, there was almost no information from a Catholic perspective available on the internet or anywhere else.
After my final class where we were taught how to distance heal by memorizing sacred symbols and words (Japanese characters with no english translations given) we were sent home to practice drawing the symbols which would be commited to memory. I took out the manual that I had been given and told to keep secret, and I became scared out of my wits. I at that moment knew I had given over myself to Satan, even if it was completely unintentional. I didn’t know how to undo what I had done. Catholic priests didn’t even know what Reiki was 14 years ago.
Code:
I just threw myself at the mercy of God. I completely renounced ever having anything to do with it. I burned the manual with the symbols in it. I prayed the St. Michael Prayer and all the other prayers I knew. God assured me that He would protect me and that He was more powerful than the evil that I had let creep into my life.
I never intentionally wanted evil or to do anything sinful. Baptism and confirmation permenantly changes the soul. Reiki promises its counterpart to the sacraments by permanantly re-aligning the chakras of the initiated. Satan imitates God’s work. This is what I came to understand when I renounced it.

No. Reiki is a form of positive energy, of healing. Certainly no demons about…
There’s no such thing as “positive energy”, or as “negative energy” for that matter. They’re nothing but New Age double-speak for demons.

Any mention of “energy” outside of Physicis should serve as a warning to run and not to look back.

:blessyou:

There’s no such thing as “positive energy”, or as “negative energy” for that matter. {really?, try electricity, both negative voltage and positive voltage (electricity is energy), want to go further, Quantum physics acknowledges mater and anti mater. (+/- energy) }
what if this “energy” is electrical, or some sorta EMF/ magnetic. energy. (all well in physics realm, and accepted as REAL!).

if you don’t believe the body at least uses electricity, the EKG and EEG, is prove that the body has DETECTABLE energy flowing (or at least generated) in parts, (here heart/brain respective) plainly electricity exists in the body

the argument is what and where else is these forms of energy. (frequencies/MAGNETIC/Electricity), , and if imposed on the body what these would do to the biological processes.

it would be dangerous, to dismiss something as false because it violates the catholic belief. (that not acknowledged will still have an effect.)

**granted if a practice involves morally wrong teaching, it is not to be done **

But if it exists, maybe there is a way to MORALLY do it.
if this is a frequency (EMF), electricity, OR magnetism. this would require only 2 things. a device to detect the energy, and one to apply it. and then we can remove the “invocations” symbols, and other new age. and make it more of a medical treatment, like radiation or something.,

just because its NEW, does not mean it does not exist OR can MORALLY be done, heck 200 years ago if someone tried to do an xray or MRI you’ed be burned at the stake for practicing witchcraft.
the question is HOW?

I did "Radio Tech and all of what you relate to is part of it. To go further when a person looks at the heart beat on a monitor the first shot is the pulse and the secont usually smaller is the electric force, or charge. When I did Physics it was as though I was almost there with God in outer space, I could almost feel the pulse of God’s heart. Like the universe is God in a way and all of the stars planets are all His children. And then in the world are us God’s children in the likeness of God. When you turn off/on the light you don’t see the light stop but you see the response to the action you did. That is the faith part of loving God.

Godbless

Odd, i haven’t heard of “radio tech” do you know where i can learn what it is. (ie. website, or book).

To anyone reading this old…old thread (why a new one couldn’t have been made is beyond me) and thinking that Catholicism and Reiki are in any way compatible (emphasis mine):

Catechism of the Catholic Church

2117 *All *practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity.

Rome has spoken, the case is closed.

Catechism of the Catholic Church

2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult {{and just what is occult, when is something occult.}} powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others {{ what if everyone uses these on a daily basis subconciously (as life sustaning process), or to various degrees with out thought.AND is someething EVERYONE can learn to enchance.}} - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion {{what determines if contray to virtue of religion}}. {any} practices are {always} to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone {{duh!}}, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons {{ditto}}. Wearing charms is also reprehensible {{and catholics do this as well rosiarys, crosses{many wear them to protect them}, we pray to pictures of mary, jesus, michale, etc. (all qualify under the bible in leviticus.}}. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity.

** as for the occult, what does that mean??? {hidden}
by whom and how.
Electricity, xrays, radiation therepy, biofeedback (ANY FORM), mixing medicine in a lab, ALL would beconidered both OCCULT and witchcraftery, and if you followed the teching back then would qualify, as such and be declared against. 200+ years ago. since no one could expalin it. but i don’t see anyone not doing these practices, barring Jehovias witnesses (i think?).

granted there is enought praying and chanting reiki this to choke a whale (so the current practice qualifies as wrong).

lets keep in mind the POPE (any) have only made 2 ex cathedra, teachings, (binds the concious), and these are of the virgin birth, and assumption of mary. both of which do not apply here.

for your information, if you wanted to see the ORIGINAL bulliten, it is not hosted at: ctredeemer.org/mass/hreiki.shtml, actually made me laugh when i read it.

“Universal Life Force Energy” to which we add “of the Spirit.” We emphasize that the gift of Reiki healing is the gift of God’s healing life force flowing through the being and hands of the Reiki Practitioner and into the being of the one receiving the healing treatment.

you can’t change it to what you want it to be if it is really something else. 😛

and just be clear, i was not suggesting doing reiki, but rather, if
“reiki” works, and it is by a know means of energy, EMF, magnetic, electricy, then one may be able to use the form of energy to do healing work. as the energy itself, might not have any inherent good or evil associated with it.

comments?

I have a friend who practices reiki. She is a licensed reiki healer and offers her services for free, which she says makes her fellow reiki healers mad. Yes, I’ve done my fair share of eye rolling when she said this. Anyways, she also believes that Jesus used this art to heal the sick and so forth. This lead down the path of extra-biblical truth such as Sacred Tradition, which she doesn’t believe yet believes reiki’s in the Bible.

That argument that Jesus used reiki is very dangerous, as it would also be used to explain Jesus’ miracle of walking on water, saying he used a device to do so. The fact of the matter is, reiki is not in the Bible because it is not of God. You don’t need reiki, for St. Paul reminds us that Christ tells us, “My grace is sufficient for you.” Reiki, along with other holistic practices, were primarily used in the past as part of a religion, whether organized or not. Yoga also falls in this category, and could be used in the new age practice. Granted, Christianity has taken some aspects of paganism and Christianized them, but as for reiki, it’s a huge NO!

I mean seriously, the rosary, the Sacraments, Christ’s salvific suffering on the Cross, the Church, Apostolic Succession, the Bible, God’s Revelation, the Saints’ intercession, Miracles, and God’s grace aren’t enough, so you turn to evil such as reiki? What we need for salvation has been given to us directly from Christ, not from the Chinese, Japanese, or Native Americans.

zmyr88 as I said. Rome has spoken the case is closed.

But to address something else you said. If you wear rosary beads for protection, then that is against Catholic teaching.

If you pray to pictures you are an idolator and are acting in violation of Church teaching.

You can question it all you like but we have the opinion of the Church right there in the Catechism.

God bless

Peter

Odd, i haven’t heard of “radio tech” do you know where i can learn what it is. (ie. website, or book).
It is “Radio Technology”. We made mother boards , transformers, (step up, or step down) for radios, amplifiers (for guitars, radio stations. radio arials for the stations, etc. I have a few books from America and next time you write I will get the books out but tonight all are in bed, sorry.

The use of capacitors resistance diods, ICs, crystles, valves, PNPs, NPNs etc. I actually crossed the wires when making a bridge rectifer with a step up transformer I made up with quite large capacitors and I didn’t realise I had crossed the wires and all of a sudden I had an almighty boom all the paper from in the caps was all over the place. I never did that again. But the boss told me off for not doing it while he was there he wanted to see it.

Anyway
Godbless.

really?, try electricity, both negative voltage and positive voltage (electricity is energy), want to go further, Quantum physics acknowledges mater and anti mater. (+/- energy)
Go back to your middle school books and try to find “positive” or “negative” electricity. There’s no such thing as polar energy. One amount of energy can be smaller or larger than another and their difference may result in a positive or negative number, but it’s just an artifact of the calculation.

Matter and anti-matter are essentially the same stuff, but in opposite directions. Remember Einstein’s formula: E=mc2. See, energy is always positive. 👍

:blessyou:

You are quite right, it takes both protons and electrons to make electicity, electricity itself is neutral.

However, there are ionic beams that can be positive or negative. Maybe that is what he was talking about?

Time to write to the bishop
I agree, however I would politely confront the pastor first. Only because occasionally something slips under his radar. If he actually green lights this, yeah, bishop time.

Keep us updated Fergal on any response.

Time to write to the bishop
That was what I’d planned on saying - and also the Vatican. (although your mail will be re-routed to some office in Washington, DC).

I have the unhappy/fearful thought that once an aide of my Mom’s did Reiki on my Mom and me. No words spoken. Just running hands above the body, head to toe - not touching or saying anything. It seemed really just an energy thing. I had been such a mess, and been told I needed to relax, etc. but I had no intention of pursuing it. After what I’ve read here, I’m petrified for my Mom’s soul now that she’s gone. I can only pray it was innocent. But I made so many mistakes before my Mom’s passing, forgetful or panic, that I often wondered did evil make the confusion. God help me and my Mom.

The Office in DC is the papal nuncio. From what I gather, in general you don’t bother him unless you have first attempted to reolve the issue with the bishop, and then if that does not work go to the nuncio, but make sure you got documentation and evidence.

As far as your mother, don’t be afraid. I highly doubt she was fully aware of the implications.

Thanks - I don’t quite know the order of things when it comes to how to file a grievance (isn’t it sad when we’ve reached a point that we have to use that term about our Church or a parish?) I fully agree that the Bishop is first step. But I’d be concerned about a parish offering something instead of a Sacrament.

Thanks re my other issue. Neither of us were aware of the implications of what I’d read in recent posts - nor would we consent to anything but God’s Will, and we denounce evil.

You are quite right, it takes both protons and electrons to make electicity, electricity itself is neutral.
Actually, it always takes solely electrons. If they flow from one end to another we call the one end negative, if they flow to one end from another we call the one end positive. So, as I said, electricity is not positive or negative, it’s just electrons moving and arbitrarily call their movement in one direction positive and in the other negative. It’s so arbitrary that in electronic circuit calculations, the electric current is represented in the opposite direction of the electrons. Of course, provided that the convention is followed through and through, it works.

However, the only energy that flows in our bodies is electricity through the nerves. There’s also stored chemical energy in the cells, but their release is local. If one messes with the former, one gets spasms, if one messes up with the former, one just gets movements.

So whatever he’s talking about is pure New Age make-believe. And the use of Reiki when ministering the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is an offense to the Holy Spirit, Who doesn’t need Reiki to infuse His grace. Not ever, not now.
