Looks like I will be moving to the Scranton, PA area and will be looking for a new parish to join.

Does anyone know the parishes in the area and could recommend one (I have already ruled out St. Michael’s in Scranton for a personal reason which I will not get into here).

mgy and shannon:

Thanks for the suggestions.

The apartment that I am looking at, if the background check for where I will be working is not messed up, is in the area of the combined parishes of Immaculate Conception/Christ the King.

As for the other PM I received, I hope it explains why I am not considering St. Michaels. Maybe in the future, but not right now.

Just an update on my search.

After visiting a number of parishes, I have decided attend St. Ann Basilica Parish. I found that the church and the liturgy there is the most orthodox of the parishes in the area and there is ample parking. Also, they have daily Mass in the evenings which I like.

In addition, I am going to see if one of the priests (it is ran by the Passionists) there do spiritual direction.

Thanks to al that gave me suggestions on this.
