I was debating with yet another Mormon, and he brought something interesting to my attention. And that is Ezekiel 36:16.
As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it" ‘for Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it, 'For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions."
Now “rod” or “sticks” means the making of a record from the seed of Joseph. And for some strang reason, unbenounced to me, this means Native Americans carry this record. But it’s clear to me, that this is another messianic prophecy fullfilled by Christ!
I think Ezekiel was talking about Jesus, not Joseph Smith. And this is the clear interpretation since we know Jesus is from the tribe of Judah.
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah (birthplace of David and later Christ,) Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One Who shall be ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” -Micah 5:2
A record of Joseph was definently made by Jesus Christ:
A shepherd of his fathers sheep: Gen. 37:2 & John 10:11, 27-29
His father loved him dearly: Gen. 37:3 & Matt. 3:17
Hated by his brothers: Gen.37:4 & John 7:4, 5
Sent by father to brothers: Gen. 37:13, 14 & Heb. 2:11
Others plotted against him: Gen. 37:20 & John 11:53
Robes taken from them: Gen. 37:23 & John 19:23, 24
Taken to Egypt: Gen:37:26 & Matt. 2:14, 15
Sold for the price of a slave: Gen. 37:28 & Matt. 26:15
Tempted: Gen. 39:7 & Matt 4:1
Falsely accused: Gen. 39:16-18 & Matt26:59, 60
Bound in chains: Gen. 39:20 & Matt.27:2
Placed with two other prisoners, one saved, the other lost: Gen.40:2, 3 & Luke 23:32
Exalted after suffering: Gen.41:41 & Phil. 2:9-11
Both 30 years old at the beginning of public recognition: Gen. 41:46 & Luke 3:23
Both wept: Gen. 42:24; 45:2, 14, 15: 46:29 & Matt. 1:21
Forgiven those who wronged them: Gen. 45:1-15 & Luke 23:34
Saved their nation: Gen. 45:7 & Matt. 1:21
What men did to hurt them, God turned to good: Gen. 50:20 & 1 Cor. 2:7, 8
Just thought I’d share that. God Bless.
