I couldn’t care less what race Mr. Obama is. All I care about is his stance on abortion and will be praying that God gives him the graces needed to see the Truth. By your reaction I guess you probably voted for him. The Catholic Church advised all Catholics to vote according to an informed conscience. (i.e. not voting for a pro abortion candidate) Fr. Corapi requested that we say a novena of rosarys that God’s will be done in this election -which I did. Who knows, maybe this is God’s will. I can’t see the big picture. Only God can. As for partial birth abortion. It is never necessary, even to save the mother’s life.

In my area, the ones I know of are just offices to hand out condoms and pills.

Thank you, Ukfan. I just thought of googling abortion clinics in my area, and sure enough they all appear on the first page of results, each with their own cute website designed by marketing experts. You would think from reading them that getting an abortion is like getting a liposuction or a boob job!
 
I better stop reading abortionists’ websites, or I’ll end up dusting off my gun and start shooting people down.
 
i went to the link and saw the graphic drawings of the partial birth abortions. how sad. how tragic. i wonder how many partial birth abortions are performed? how can a doctor not have nightmares after performing those abortions or any abortions?
 
If a veterinarian to place a German Shepherd under anesthetic then remove a litter of puppies from the animal’s womb, drop the puppies on the floor and crush their heads one by one under the heel of his boot he would certainly be arrested. His face would be on every single newspaper in the nation. He would be the lead story on all major networks with the media comparing him with Adolph Hitler. :eek:

So while we’re on the topic of compassion… Gently removing the child from her mother’s womb, lying her on a blanket, pointing a .357 magnum in the child’s face and pulling the trigger would be far less brutal than what occurs at the typical abortion mill. Mom can even be required to witness the act of termination for verification purposes of course!

If abortion cannot be eliminated through legislation, then perhaps the above idea can be proposed from a “humane” standpoint.

The above idea is obviously evil and insane, but as evil as it is… isn’t what’s going on every day in abortion clinics all across America even worse?

I am convinced that if people knew what an abortion involved, they would be horrified. This message needs to get out and it’s up to us to do it! For many years, I didn’t even think about abortion because it didn’t affect me. One day I saw a picture of an aborted baby in a trash can and I was stunned! Seeing that picture woke me up and changed my life forever.

To the question of Planned Parenthood and I know I am going to get some slack for this. I used to volunteer for them before I became Catholic. I am now pro-life as I have changed my mind on this issue. So please, don’t anyone make any attacks on me personally. The clinic I volunteered at did not do abortions - they referred out. What they did do mostly was contacpetion for teens that were hell bent on being sexually active. Granted I know contraception is a sin of its own but so is premarital sex and for that matter having sex at the tender age of 14 which in 97 1 out of 5 children of 13 and 14 were. I honestly think in that kind of situation giving out the contaception was the lesser of two evils. I also saw a REALLY beautiful thing. I saw very quality prenatal care being given to poor mothers who wouldn’t have been able to afford it who chose life. I also saw these nurses and midwives make arrangements with local hospitals to pay for the delivery of the children. I saw them doing school physicals for families that couldn’t afford them as well as families that could. They also accepted insurance for these services so that they could pay to take care of some of the women that were uninsured and could not pay. I wonder if we could get further by offering to help financially with what they do RIGHT rather than condemning the WHOLE operation for what they do REALLY REALLY wrong. I know this is a utopian kind of thought but it is just a thought.

This is the single most horrific evil committed in todays world.

Todays culture is so desensitized to death and killings. Hollywood makes endless movies of killing, the bloodier and more graphic the better. And don’t forget about all those video games marketed for teens that center around killing.

The news networks will cover Endlessly, wars and murders. Can anyone truly remember any news agency only reporting on GOOD news?

As a society, we have gotten so used to seeing death from every possible angle, that we turn a blind eye to it. For young people, this is especially true. Its not real anymore, unless it effects their family in a personal way.

With abortions, a woman should be REQUIRED to watch a video of an actual abortion (I made my 15 year old son watch one on youtube, yes, he was mature enough to see it) they need to graphically be told exactly what happens to the baby in the procedure. We may not be able to change the hearts and minds of the abortionist, but maybe we CAN change the hearts and minds of the mothers.

As for the life of the mother being in danger as an excuse for partial birth abortion. HOGWASH.
 
The mother’s health arguement for a partial birth abortion has no basis at all. Even if the baby is aborted, the mother still has to finish giving birth. This trauma on the mother is the same whether the baby is alive or not. Modern medicine has come such a long way, that it is extremely rare that birthing poses a risk to the mother that the Doctor’s cannot overcome. PBA is a horrific, evil act. I do not know how any human can be involved in one and be able to sleep at night.
 
While reading joandarc’s thread on Planned Parenthood, It just dawned on be that one of the reasons that the abortion rate in the U.S.A. is so high could have something to do with the medical cost of bringing a baby to term and delivering it compared to the cost of an abortion. I live in Canada where most medical procedures are covered by Government Health Insurance therefore I have no idea what the cost difference would be. I imagine it is significant enough that it could have an effect on the decision of a woman who has no medical insurance. I may be way off base. If I am please let me know. It was just a thought.

Yes and No. Hospitals are required to treat and stabilize any lief-threatening conditions without regard to ability to pay. This includes labor and delivery. We do have programs such as MediCAid which are there to help people who are under-financed or under-employed. However those programs are broken. They also do not necessarily extend to unborn children. That is one of the fights.
