I just watched the short movie called A Distant Thunder about partial birth abortion. I thought it had an amazing twist. After it was over we watched the commentaries. They go through a little of how it was performed and I am just astonished at how these doctors can live with themselves and do what they do. They said that a partial birth abortion is performed during the secend or third trimester. That is MURDER! I wonder what God thinks about the doctors who perform these terrible acts? Has anyone else seen this movie?

Stac4Grace I saw the movie; highly recommend it. Did you see Fr. Frank Pavone’s review of “A Distant Thunder” last month on the Priests for Life website?👍

no, but I am trying to find a copy of my own.

May God have mercy on the souls that take part in abortions.

Thanks!

I’ll be watching it soon!

PS: is this movie appropriate for an eleven year old? Of course I’d be with him while watching to reply to any of his questions.

And another thing, is there a reason why this movie does not appear on Ebay? (that’s where I have been looking)

Crow, Is this movie appropriate for an eleven year old? Maybe you should watch it first and decide for yourself. One doesn’t see anything like a graphic abortion procedure; nonetheless, some of the scenes are
h a u n t i n g. It may prove difficult for an eleven year old to understand as it is a rather unconventional and unpredictable; the viewer is never too sure what is happening. Now maybe your son will be clever enough to hang in there. :hmmm:

Thanks for the advice. i was planning to see it before but your comment confirm that I won’t mention the movie in front of him until I’ve seen it.

I have shown pictures of abortions to my son a few months back. sat him down and had a good father-to-son talk before and after. He saw the pictures for maybe 20 seconds; it was enough.

He said whenver he’ll be a teenager and someone in his class, or even a teacher tries to tell him that aboriton is not murder that he’ll know what to say. I’m very proud of son; but i don’t want to overwhelm him though.

How so? Please be more specific. I don’t want to watch anything if it shows any abortion procedure taking place (whether I can actually see what’s going on or not), or the body afterwards.

M134e5, Be not afraid; there are no baby body parts shown. This is not a documentary, far from it. By haunting I am referring to the mode of artistic expression; a heavy oppressive mood pervades the film; certain disorienting scenes only make sense in the end. A Distant Thunder is clever precisely because it provokes thought while respecting the sensitivity and intelligence of the viewer.

I am glad to hear this - I’ve heard of the movie, but always assumed it showed a partial birth abortion (i.e. - infanticide) procedure and, not liking gore in any manner, never pursued trying to obtain a copy of it - but I will now!

Please get a copy … this short film in either version, Editor’s Cut or the slightly shorter All Audience Version should be seen by every pro-abortion person in the world (not referring to you, Magster, or any who may read this.) The few minutes < 3 cut from the All Audience Edition are not all that graphic, but no child should see it unsupervised and not before supervising adults have formulated answers to questions the youth will probably ask … the Bonus Tracks were necessary for me.
If this were televised, the program would easily be an hour … 35-minutes of film + 25-minutes of commercials. An Emmy or an Oscar should be awarded this production, but I imagine that’ll be the day. ( thank you Buddy Holley)
An Oscar or an Emmy should be awared this production.
Magster, the couple of Tablespoons of Blood in the Editor’s Cut is mentioned if it qualifies as “gore in any manner,” but it is symbolism.
