Parties on Good Friday and Holy Saturday?

Is it proper for a Christian/Catholic to attend dances or parties on Good Friday or Holy Saturday? I have been invited to a couple of events, one on Good Friday evening and the other on Holy Saturday evening and I am not sure whether it is proper for me to attend. I am pretty sure it would not be considered a sin but would it be considered disrespectful?

Hi,

Good Friday is the day the Lord suffered and died for us. The least we can do, is spend that day in prayer. Besides adult Catholics are obliged to abstain from meat on that day and fast, eating only one full meal on that day.

It would be better to skip all parties until Easter. Read the passion and reflect on it.
