Does anyone else pray the Passion Rosary or do the Stations of the Cross and then say a Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 everyday?

What is a Passion Rosary?

I’m asking because I purchased on-line a Stations of the Cross Rosary thinking it would come with an explanation, but it didn’t. There are three beads in each section and I don’t know what you’re supposed to pray on the beads.

I went back to the website where I purchased them, but they don’t have anything other than the beads and I haven’t been able to find an explanation of this devotion. I would like to do them after a 3:00 Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

You can often find chaplet prayers online - just do a google search. Here’s the Stations of the Cross for you:

"Stations of the Cross Rosary Chaplet
The Chaplet of the Way of the Cross (Stations of the Cross)

This chaplet consists of 15 groups of 3 beads each, between which are medals representing the stations of the cross. An additional 6 beads are added as well as a crucifix.

This chaplet of the Way of the Cross was granted to Vincentian Order by Popes Pius IX and X. Later it was withdrawn by the Holy Office (1912), since the indulgences can be gained by using the crucifix alone.

It is somewhat of a misnomer to call this a rosary. To the sick and to others who cannot go to a church to make the Way of the Cross the Holy See has given the privilege of gaining the indulgences attached to the Way of the Cross by holding in their hand a specially indulgenced crucifix and saying the prescribed prayers, the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory be 20 times.

A Suggested Way of Saying the Way of the Cross Rosary

On the Crucifix say the Apostle’s Creed.

On each of the following six beads:
  1. An Act of Contrition.
  2. Prayer to Jesus Christ Crucified:
Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself on my knees in Your sight and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beg You to impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm desire of amendment, while with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Your five most precious wounds: having before my eyes that which David spoke in prophecy: “They have pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones.”
  1. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them; an dmay all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen
  2. Our Father
  3. Hail Mary
  4. Glory be
For the intentions of the Holy Father: at each medal/station say:

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.

Followed by: Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be. "

Presumably with the 15 groups you meditate on each of the 14 stations of the Cross (with an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for each) and THEN on the 15th group you’d say the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for the Pope’s intentions.

First Cross yourself.
On the cross say and Apostles Creed
On the 1st bead say and Act of Crontrition
on the 2nd bead say an Our Father
3rd Hail Mary
4th Glory Be
5th Prayer to Christ crucified (I personally also say a prayer for the souls in purgatory)
One the Next three beads say:
Our Father
Hail Mary
Golry be
Then on the station medal say : We adore you O Christ and we bless you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
Then meditate on the station and go on with The Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be on all the sets of three.
When you have said the last station say:
Jesus I trust in you!
and then cross yourself.
