What is Passionist spirituality other than their devotion to the Crucified Christ?

If you’re referring to the religious order known as the Passionist, they were founded by St. Paul of the Cross, and their ministry is retreat ministry especially for lay people.

I use to go on retreats at a local Passionist retreat center, but they closed a few years ago.

They have one in Connecticut and I just go a promotional magazine from them.

However, most people here would not want to go there for retreat.

I’d like to know more about them as well. I have a Passionist Scapular which is a part of my Fivefold Scapular.

Fr. Cedric Pisegna is a Passionist priest and has a television ministry on TCC (371 Direct TV). He will be speaking tonight at 7 PM EST if anyone wants to listen. His topic is “making choices.” I watched last night, and this will be a repeat - it was excellent! The program is called “Live With Passion.” What else could the name be? 😃

Sorry to bring this thread back up but it is the Servite Scapular of Our Lady of Sorrows. I am a 5 fold scapular wearer too.

The Black Scapular apart of the Fivefold isn’t the Passionist scapular(Black Scapular of the Passion) but it’s the Black Scapular of the Seven Sorrows. The one you have is much more of a Servite scapular.
Also, the Passionist is, as previously mentioned, strongly grounded on devotion to Christ Crucified. It also consists of both elements of secularism(Jesuits) and contemplation(Trappists).
