I really wish I had better news for you, but I’ve been actively trying to find an answer for over a decade. I’ve received multiple answers from various priests and bishops. I’ve even received multiple answers from the NCBC (National Catholic Bioethics Center). If they can’t give a solid answer, I really don’t know who could.

I’m sorry I didn’t see this thread sooner, so please forgive the late response.

TShawn, I can’t even begin to imagine the struggle you’ve been going through, but I echo the advice others have given.

But there’s one thing I didn’t see mentioned.

I saw where you said you had “transitioned.” I’m sorry to have to tell you this, and I don’t know why no one else said this to you, but that would constitute the mortal sin of mutilation. And assuming you dress as a man now (you did say you “used to be” female, right?), you should know that cross-dressing is sinful as well.

“A woman shall not be clothed with man’s apparel, neither shall a man use woman’s apparel: for he that doth these things is abominable before God” (Deuteronomy 22:5).

DavidJoseph-

No, I do NOT believe I am guilty of mortal sin. You and many others in this forum may think me to be quite arrogant in stating this, but even if the Pope were to tell me as you did, I still would not agree. Neither you nor any of the readers in this forum, nor the Pope will be standing at my side on judgement day before God. It will be I and I alone who will face God and answer for my actions, and I am at peace with that! - TShawn.

I may as well state here as well as any other thread on these forums, that I am leaving the Catholic Church. I have given it alot of painstaking thought and soul searching. I do not share the Church’s views on too many things on “moral” issues for me to continue claiming that I am Catholic. So, I think the best thing for me in the name of integrity is to leave the Church. I also no longer believe it is necessary for me to remain a Catholic in order for my soul to be saved because the Catholic Church will not nor cannot help me anyway. I know many that have been following my threads and any other topics relating to homosexuals and transgendered people, will more than likely rejoice and say “Great! We got rid of another dissenter!”. Whatever. Enjoy your elation you judgers of men. To the others who might feel saddened by my news, please feel free to pray for me. I always welcome prayers meant in true charity. - Sincerely, TShawn

😦

Yes, unfortunately there are several members of CAF who hold that exact position, and not just regarding the topics you mentioned. They want a “pure” Church, and have no regard for the salvation of those who are in dissent. Its an incredibly selfish position to take.

I will pray that God guide you and that you never lose sight of Christ’s love for you.

TShawn,
All men struggle with temptation. This is a sinful world. Sin leads to confusion.

The truth is very simple. Gay relationships bear no fruit.

When you were young, the devil tempted you and you failed to resist, as all men do. Stop trying to justify your behaviour, and instead, seek the truth.

God made Eve for Adam. God loves man, and his love is manifested in women. Why are women so easy to love? Because God gave man something that was beyond his imagination. This relationship is fruitful.

Regarding your LGBT community: Leave it immediately. Don’t worry about material things, or the things you have done to your body, since those will all fade in a short time.

No one has judged you. That’s a common tactic of those who can’t or won’t accept fraternal correction – they get mad and cry “Judgmental!!!” And you said in your previous post that you don’t believe what you’re doing is sinful. But if your conscience were really at peace, you wouldn’t be angry, nor would you be attacking those who have tried to admonish you in Christian love. Deep in your heart of hearts, you know you’re wrong. But I know no one wants to see you leave the Church. They want to see you stay, but they also want you to conform yourself to Christ, not vice versa.
