My house is a disorganised mess.
My office is a disorganised mess.
My work is a disorganised mess.
My life is a disorganised mess.
My mind is a disorganised mess.
My soul is a disorganised mess.

I try to clean up the clutter, but it’s just too foreboding.
Is there a patron saint for my predicament?
A patron saint of disorganization, clutter and mess?

Try invoking Mary under her title Undoer of Knots. This is a devotion Pope Francis is fond of.

You are not alone.

I have no help with a patron saint, but I’ve found help and comfort in Psalm 40: 2-4.

"Surely, I wait for the LORD;
who bends down to me and hears my cry,

Draws me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the muddy clay,

Sets my feet upon rock,
steadies my steps,

And puts a new song in my mouth,
a hymn to our God.

Many shall look on in fear
and they shall trust in the LORD."

No there is not. Therefore there is no other option but for you to take that role down the track. Take all the clutter in your office and put it in your biggest drawer. If you have not gone looking for it for six months throw everything in the drawer out.
Take one room at a time and throw out everything you don’t use or cherish into another room. Do the same for each room take a room a week. At the end you will have only one room a complete and utter mess. Close the door for six months. If, after six months you have not gone looking for an item in that room, get a skip and throw it all out.You never really needed any of it. Repeat as required.
Your mind will always be a disorganized mess and thus your life. Give thanks for the internal wilderbeast, as it makes you dangerous.
Your soul is not a mess, just stained like most. Just needs a good sacramental scrub and it will come up to scratch before a Lord that doesn’t look under the carpet.
Either take this advice or get a wife. She will try to change you for the rest of your life. It may be your path to sainthood. Definitely hers… God bless.

Well, here are a few very nice and powerful saints to pray through.

For general home messiness, I would ask for the intercession of St.Zita. this wonderful saint was a maid.

For lost items, of course, St.Anthony.

For disorganized paperwork, I would pray through St Benedict, a very organized saint.

You can also pray through our Lady of Mental Peace to have calmness in your soul.

You are definitely not alone! I took on St. Martha as my patron because of the dragon legend I’d read about her. She is helping me to tame the dragons of disorganization & procrastination. 🙂

I appreciate you trying to be helpful and I do not know the specifics of the OP’s situation. That said, your “method” as I read it would have resulted for me in the loss of several important legal documents, a several month’s long bout of depression and/or self-loathing for myself and emotional/financial damage for my children.

Disorganization is a symptom of many different causes, occurs at many different levels, and if a solution for the correct cause isn’t identified and work on, then the mess - no matter how it’s dealt with at first, can and will return.

It’s taken me years of hard work and setbacks to finally understand my mind and my situation, what prompts the disorganization and how to solve it using a plan that works with my brain “glitches”, emotional issues, and the demands of my life situation.

It wouldn’t work for anyone else, and although I found some very helpful ideas and plans in various books/websites - not one single one would work for me until I understood my own needs and experimented until I could combine/create a plan that would work for me.

And during all that time, prayer was (and continues) to be a very real resource.

Nobody said not to read things first. The only way to declutter is to purge.🤷

How about Brother Juniper?
“Juniper had been commanded to quit giving part of his clothing to the half-naked people he met on the road. Desiring to obey his superior, Juniper once told a man in need that he couldn’t give the man his tunic, but he wouldn’t prevent the man from taking it either. In time, the friars learned not to leave anything lying around, for Juniper would probably give it away.”

So…pray to help get organized, lest Brother Juniper give away all your stuff! 😃
