Do we have any takers? I feel like praying with a brother or sister of mine, someone who is patron or patroness of single men on quest for their wives.

Reckon you could do worse that good old St Valentine ❤️

There is a great sight for finding patron saints.
www.catholic-forum.com/saints/indexsnt.htm
(Hopefully I copied that correctly!)
Under Bachelors they list:
Benedict Joseph Labre
Benezet
Boniface of Tarsus
Caesarius of Nanzianzen
Casimir of Poland
Christopher
Cuthman
Epipodius
Gerald of Aurillac
Guy of Anderlecht
John Rigby
Joseph Moscati
Luke the Apostle
Marinus
Pantaleon
Roch
Serenus
Theobald

St. Raphael the archangel is traditional for finding a spouse. The exact Bible story escapes me now, I’m sorry to say.

Book of Tobit - he helped Tobias and Sarah when Tobias was threatened by the same demon who had killed six (seven?) previous husbands of hers. 👍

Good choice.

might be a good saint to invoke if you are having in-law problems as well.

I will pray for you - that God may bless you in the new year, if that is His will for you.

How about a patron saint for women wanting to be wives real bad?

My sister is praying!

Yes, My female cousin is now 30 and has been dating without “finding the one”. I’d like to add her to my prayer intentions! I think the Blessed Virgin Mary is appropriate, any others?

In way of encouragement I might suggest CatholicSingles.com to my cousin but don’t really know much about it. Any comments on this site?

Again, I don’t know the reason, but I do remember hearing people pray, “Good Saint Anne, find me a man!” addressing the request to the mother of Our Lady.

Just one just one just one just one just one … two hours later … just one just one

I think I’ll leave it up to the Blessed Mother, Father Joseph, and Jesus my Lord and Brother. The Holy Family, and our family in heaven.

In otherwords, I’ve decided to quit fretting…Haha, with full knowledge that I’ll come back to this thread in a few weeks, discouraged.

Brothers and sisters, pray for us!
Thanks to those who have prayed. 🙂

How about St. Thomas More? He was a married man and father of five. He decided to marry after carefully considering the religious life, and realizing that he couldn’t hack celibacy. You may be sure that once he arrived at that realization, he devoted some time to prayer on the subject. When his beloved first wife died, he quickly remarried in order to prevent his children from being without a mother.

And if things are looking really bad, don’t forget St. Jude. (Though if he doesn’t help you, you could at least have the consolation of knowing that you therefore couldn’t be hopeless!)

Does anyone know if there’s a special devotion to St. Valentine (or any other patron/patroness) that lasts until that saint’s feast day? I suppose I could do novenas until the given feast day.

I mentioned St. Valentine for two obvious reasons: His feast day is soon approaching. And c’mon- It’s St. Valentine!

Thank you!

You couldn’t go wrong with St Anthony the patron saint of finding things ( finding a mate??)

Oh, hey. haha my “name saint”. Why not?
Yeah mine to and he has helped me find things on many occasions. Hope he helps you. I don’t know any reason why he shouldn’t help you with your need.
Check this out,
I went to Jesus and said to him on a few occasions, “Lord if you have a woman for me she must be catholic, love playing music, be good with you and Idon’t mind is she has some children”. Well after Jesus giving me what I asked for aI got married 4 weaks ago after 5 years of courting her. And…she is catholic plays music, is a youth worker, and has 4 children two at home…
God bless
