*I have questions concerning “tabniyth” and “typos.

Exodus 25: 40 And look that thou make [them] after their pattern*, which was shewed thee in the mount.

Pattern for Tabniyth**, as used in Exodus 25: 40**

**Acts 7: 44 **Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

Fashion for Typos*, *as used in Acts 7: 44

First, how does the LXX translate “tabniyth”?

**Second, concerning “tabniyth” and “typos”, would these be similar to our blueprints? Or, what is the modern metaphor, analogy or a synonym? **

[Fri] τυπον
(1) literally blow;
by metonymy, the impression made by the blow mark, trace (JN 20.25);

I don’t know if Moses saw something like 2-D bluePrints on the mount or if he saw the actual tabernacle (verse below) which would be the type (typos) used for the construction of the earthly tabernacle.

Revelation 15:5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

I do not know if this will make sense, it is really difficult for me to express these thoughts.

I am pondering the idea that Moses saw a model or copy or pattern of the future Messiah.

The model or type or template or blueprint that he saw was to be used to build the tabernacle and the rites of the Jews.

When the Messiah came, He is not the model or a copy of the model, but He is the true one or the Truth. The Messiah was that which the pattern imaged or copied.

The copy of the pattern was a foreshadowing of the Messiah’s coming.

Thus He is the bread and not the copy of bread come down from heaven.

He is the Gate and not a copy or model made from the pattern.

He is the Light and not a sign or a candle or menorah made from the pattern.

He is the Word and not Ten Words or Ten Commandments made from the pattern.

He is the Way not the copy or written Torah made from the pattern.

He is the true Lamb and not the Passover meal of roasted lamb described in the pattern.

He is the Temple and not a copy made from the pattern.

He is the true groom.

He is the true tree of life.

He is the true vine and not the one that Noah planted.

Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb **are the temple **of it
Tabernacle & Christ:
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and **he **will dwell with them, and they shall be **his **people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt (tabernacled) among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

only thing…if Moses somehow ‘saw’ pre-incarnate Christ/2nd person of trinity or a ‘foreshadowing of the Messiah’ in some manner on the mount, how’d he get from that ‘sight’ to the shoebox shaped tabernacle out in the wilderness 🤷…the Holy Spirit guided him spiritually/mentally. The other thing is how to figure in Mary. Have read on other threads that she’s supposed to be the ark inside the tabernacle…all right now I am confused 😃
 
First, I am not sure if my ideas or correct. I know that they are incomplete. I know that they are really, really incomplete.

Second, I really do not know who to ask for help in this area.

Third, I do not know how to explain Exodus 25: 40.

However, Moses saw the *“tabniyth” or “typos" *on thorm mountain. What the nature of the “tabniyth” is I do not know. But Moses made the tabernacle and Jewish rites from it. I believe it to be a “tabniyth” of the Messiah, the Son of God, the Word made flesh.

The “tabniyth” is a copy of the true bread, true lamb, true tabernacle or temple et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

As far as I know, this is the area of typology or foreshadowing.
 
The tabnyth imo is typified by the Apostles memory of the Christ Event preserved as Public Revelation in the memory of the Church.

I('m sure I didn’t word what I was trying to express very well.

God tells Moses to remember the pattern shown him on the mountain. I believe it was the memory of that pattern that came to mind when it’s earthly counterpart was encountered and recognized as an appropriate type.

Jesus’ earthly life seems to serve the same role as a pattern to copy and remember. The apostles also recognized the Sacraments as Moses recognized types. Jesus said ‘do this in memory of me’.

I see a correlation between the pattern Moses saw and was told to remember and build a form a worship to preserve the pattern in types with the pattern of life the Apostles saw and was told to remember and build a form of worship that preserves the pattern in signs.
