🙂 🙂 🙂

No way! Yes we are cool.
Plus, you dont like NAB either.
I don’t like the NAB, either; but I did give you a quote from the footnotes answering your question on Jn 7:53-8:11 missing from early manuscripts. I own the NAB, but do not use it often. I prefer the RSV-CE.

I better re-read that post. I must be seeing things. I thought they were worried the reprisal would be on them, not Jesus.

In any case, Thanks again for all the help in sorting this out!🙂

Are you accusing the Pharasiee of being willing to have one of their people stoned (or risk it) just to “get Jesus”
Hellisreal, you may not be aware that in the first century C.E., the Romans were the authority not the Jews, and certainly if Jesus our Lord had stoned the woman, he would be guilty of murder under Roman law. Catholic theology teaches that Jesus is sinless, so Jesus did not fall into Satan’s temptation.

In United States of America, adultery is legal like ancient Rome. Now, suppose a group of fundamentalist Christians brought you a women who they say was caught in the act of adultery. These “Pharisees” tell you the punishment is stoning and ask you to implement it. Will you do it? I am sure you will not because in America (which is modern day Rome), it is a crime of murder to kill any person extra-judically.

In Islamic countries, the Ulama can kill people extra-judically! See how Salman Rushdie, an innocent men was sentenced to death without any trial whatsoever?
Please. There is no reason to believe they would have risked that woman’s life. They were horrible at times, but not killers for crying out loud!
If that is not the reason, then can you share with us the real reason? 😃

Its about the adultery “story” in John.
Hellisreal, have you heard of Saint John Chrysostom, a 4th century Eastern scholar ? If yes, do take a look what this great doctor of the Church says about this “story” in his writings. Then, tell us what he says about it 😃

Hi Murtad! This is such an old thread to me now, I almost did not remember to check it!:o

Your points are valid. They have merit. I dont disagree with them, but I am unable to think they wanted to have her killed, I dont have any explaination though.🤷

Naive I guess. I want to think they were not that merciless. But, you have a point.

:o

Paul seems to have some confusion about what he did.

Gal 1:16-17 seems to say he did not go to Jerusalem after his conversion.

Acts 9:26 seems to say that was the very first thing he did do after conversion.

What’s up with Paul?
Hi
In fact Paul was summoned, as observed by some researchers, by the Apostels to Jerusalem to clarify for his deviant activities in Rome from the teachings of JesusYeshuaIssa. Paul never went there; if he had gone there he would have to face a lot of embarrasment, so he avoided going to Jerusalem. Anybody interested for more details could access an article by A. Thank you, I have already read the Muslim hate for Paul. I know, he is a liar, ect., ect.

Thank you again for helping me see Muslim hate for Paul.

I just thought I had forgotten about it finally.🤷

Thanks and hi again not worthy!

Yes, you are right. Like how Johns account of when Jesus was crucifyed is a different day than, in Mark!

John says before the passover meal, mark says after.

John was likely more trustworthy on that one., but a HUGE difference in when Our Lord was Crucifyed!
Hellsreal:

Mark is dealing with the night of the Passover Meal, the Sedar, which our Lord Jesus ate with His disciples. That was the meal during which He instituted the Eucharist and the New Covenant in His Blood, and the night in which He was betrayed and handed over to evil men for us and our sins.

John was dealing with the Passover Sacrifice, of which our Lord Jesus was the first, having died a couple of hours before the Sabbath sunset. None of the Passover Sacrifices could be offered (under Jewish Law) until the hour Jesus died - Jesus gave His soul to the Father as the first lamb was being delivered to the alter at the Temple. Jesus was the first Passover Sacrifice that year as well as the atonement for our sins.

There simply is no difference between the two on this matter as they are dealing with two diistinct parts of the Passover feast.

I can accept this. Of course. Just have to adjust my perspective and focus harder.
🙂
Thank you for the explaination, It works for me!

The Pharisees thought that it was a win-win situation:

A) Jesus condones the stoning - The Pharisees can then “see to it” that Rome is notified of this stoning under Jesus’ authorization. The Romans will then deal with this “upstart” who takes the Law into his own hands.

B) Jesus condemns the stoning - The Pharisees feel that the Jews would lose faith in Jesus since he doesn’t uphold the Mosaic Law.

Either way - problem solved. They just forgot about the ingenuity of the God-Man!
NotWorthy:

What the Pharisees forgot was option C: Picture in a bubble above Jesus mind, “I’m going to Jerusalem to pay the (absolutely lethal) price for this woman’s sin (as well as those of her accusers… I’ll sit here and write the Law on the ground so her accusers can read it in order to remind them that they are subject to the same penalty she is…”

All of those accusing the woman knew the Law of God and the extensions Jesus had added in His sermons. As soon as those with any judgment began to read, they knew they were “Guilty as Charged” and every bit as guilty as she was.

Our Lord Jesus could do this, because in God’s “Space-Time”, that woman’s grave sin had already been paid for with His death on the cross. “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more.”

Sorry you feel that way parasurry. Hope you are well today!

I will never adopt the Muslim view on him, and ask him for intercession for Muslims to convert to christianity too!👍 He could convert all different types of believers to Chrisitanity, and it can’t hurt to ask him for that intention.🙂 I will pray to Jerome today too. I wish I had more time to read the bible today, but I cant today.

I will leave you with a happy thought,

Its amazing Muslims have so much hatred for the Holy Apostle Paul but do you remember what happened during the Danish Cartoons Controversy? All the Danish did was express the truth about “prophet” Muhammad by depicting him as a terrorist and throughout the Muslim world there were actual violent riots, some which are fatal. In the West, Muslim rights groups were calling for those newspapers that published those cartoons to be charged for “racism”.

This shows Muslims practise hypocrisy and double standards. They want West to protect their evil religion from being exposed for what it really is but at the same time they refuse to protect Catholic rights to freedom of religion in those lands that are Muslim-dominated.

Next time, a Muslim insults the Holy Apostle Paul, ask him whether he accepts insults on his own “prophet” Muhammad. Also, you should expose Muhammad’s character was that of a murderer, rapist and robber who died without repenting! Explain in detail how Muhammad and his four successor Caliphs forced converted the predominantly Assyrian Christian Middle East and Coptic North Africa to Islam via racist imperialist taxes known as Jizyah and Kharaj.

If Muslims and their left-wing supporters call Israel as a “racist” state, then, why do they not call Egypt a racist state? Does not Egyptian Arab majority practise apartheid and ethnic cleansing on the Egyptian Coptic minority? Why the hypocrisy?

I hope to hear your feedback.

Murtad, just what are you trying to say? I mean, quite straddling the fence, man!!!

BTW, this might not be the best place to go on a rant about how evil all of Islam is because of Mohamed. There are a couple of 100 other threads that might be more accommodating.

Hi
Paul can’t remember what happened as in my opinion he never saw any vision, no witnesses with any real names. It is further added that JesusYeshuaIssa and Mary were then alive very much alive on their journey to India , so no case for Paul to see him in the vision. Thanks

Hi
Paul says that there were witnesses of his visions but he conceals their names for obvious reasons.
Thanks
