Has anyone tried PB2 Peanut Butter by Bell Plantation?

I am a peanut butter FANATIC!!! and since the recalls I have been looking at alternatives.

This is what their website claims:
home of the famous powdered peanut butter named PB2 (“Peanut Butter, second generation”), Extra Virgin Roasted Peanut Oil, and our newest product member - Chocolate PB2. All are made from high-quality peanuts that have been processed without the use of any chemicals.
PB2 has 85% less fat calories than regular peanut butter, is a good source of protein, and still maintains the full flavor of regular peanut butter. Essentially, the oil is “squeezed out” of roasted peanuts and what remains is our famous PB2! The same is done for our Chocolate PB2, except that high quality cocoa powder is added for the chocolate lovers out there.
You have to order in packs of 4, so I thought I would see if anyone here has tried it before I splurge 👍

I havent tried it, but know its a big hit with Weight Watchers follower. People swear by it. Perhaps you could find some one to try it with you and split the cost???

I’m off PB in general for a while until they get this latest problem resolved, I realize jars in the stores are probably safe but it just gives me an uneasy feeling. took some protien bars and other stuff back to the store yesterday for full refund, spend it on veggies.

the PB with chocolate sounds like a winner if it is not too sweet, nutella is just gross, but would be excellent w/o the sugar

Me too, although this company is not effected by it

DH told me to go ahead and just buy a 4 pack (OK, this is bad, but he said if it isn’t any good we could take the rest to the food pantry 😊 )

I really love the fact that this PB is lower in fat and has no preservatives 👍

You can eat your regular peanut butter. The peanut butter that was recalled is peanut butter that is sold in 5lb to 1700lb vats to industries that use it for other things like cookies, brownies, candy bars, etc. But the straight peanut butter you buy in the jar is unaffected because it’s from a totally different source.
However, through its investigation, FDA has determined that PCA distributed potentially contaminated product to more than 70 consignee firms,** for use as an ingredient in hundreds of different products, such as cookies, crackers, cereal, candy and ice cream. ** Companies all over the country that received product from PCA have issued voluntary recalls of their products. FDA has created a searchable database for these products, which can be found at accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/peanutbutterrecall/index.cfm, Identification of products subject to recall is continuing and this list is updated frequently.

One of the women at my WW meeting buys a case and others split it with her. I believe the cost is a lot less if it is bought by the case.

Yeah, I still get worried though 🤷 Plus the thing that has started me thinking about the PB2 is how much less fat and NO preservative 👍

I don’t really trust the FDA since they devastated the tomato growers last year. I don’t remember what the contaminate was, but it wasn’t tomatoes.

I also do not trust that the Girl Scout cookies are OK. Almost all manufacturers have recalled their products, how can I be sure that GS cookies are safe?

I am not eating any peanut butter for awhile and of course, I have been craving it for a couple of weeks now:rolleyes:
