I did not see it, but am not surprised. Most media types have no idea why anyone would take religion seriously.

When I was a senior in high school my religion teacher told us that when see religous matters covered in the secular press, we could in good conscience believe the opposite.

Basically, whenever the media has anything to say about religion, especially when referring to the Catholic Church, its ulterior motive is to attack it, however subtly it does so.

Well, just to give PBS the benefit of the doubt (not that I’m a fan of their uber-liberal politics), could it be that since it’s public, taxpayer supported television, they were afraid that showing a prayer might be constituted as an “endorsement” of religion, and then the ACLU and separation of Church and State people would get their panties in a bunch and start harassing them, and they were trying to avoid that? Just a thought (I’m kinda surprised they aired the RNC at all, actually).

In Christ,

Ellen
