I have just received a request for prayers from those undergoing an intensive offensive from the Gov’t. of Sudan against the Nuban people. There is a lot of shelling going on in the area and the one remaining Tanzanian Priest managed to call to plead for prayers as the Soldiers of North Sudan are only 45 minutes away from our hospital and the hospital is full of wounded soldiers and civilians. These Nuban people have been undergoing a lot of bombing in the past years and now, somehow the North Sudanese Soldiers have managed to infiltrate the area. The civilians who can are hiding in mountain caves and the really brave and strong are trying to make it through the war to the refugee camp in South Sudan. It is a forgotten war, yet they are human beings: women children, old people, young people… Please pray with we Sisters for these people that they will be strong enough to prevail to get their Independence and join South Sudan as another State, and live their lives in peace.
Those of you requesting prayers because of sickness, please use your sickness as an offering to God to help these people.

Heavenly Father, we pray for the Nuban people who are under oppression; surround them with Your heavenly army; confuse the minds of the Northern Sudanese Soldiers as you did the minds of those pursuing Gideon; give supernatural protection and strength to these people; meet their needs (Philippians 4:19) and pour out your Holy Spirit and comfort them with your deep and abiding peace!!! Amen
