Hello everyone,

I pray all is well with the grace of God.

I would like to ask for prayers for my husband and I who are currently in the process of divorce. Just like any other marriages , ours is not perfect. I couldn’t believe that what we started as a very happy and God centered relationship would turn into something heartbreaking and ugly after 8 years . We’re married in civil and Catholic rites.

We met on an online dating site 9 years ago. He is a baptized Catholic (but hasn’t been practicing for 20 plus years when we met ) and I have been raised in a strict Catholic family and educated in Catholic Schools from grade school to college. He went back to the Catholic faith and has been going to mass since we met. It was a joyous union but in the last two years we drifted apart or so he thinks and his faith somewhat became lukewarm. I also found out in early 2013 that he was having an affair with a married woman. There were many challenges in our marriage but we make it a point to always say our prayer together as husband and wife at night before going to bed and in the morning when we wake up. Before our problem became full blown, we were into two Catholic prayer support group ; but even this and our brothers and sisters in community couldn’t help us.

Anyhow , since he already " switched off" his life on me and our marriage and after doing all that I can to save our marriage he is totally closed to any reconciliation and he’s moving on with his life with his affair with the other woman for 1 1/2 years now.

And so I ask for your prayers for me totally move on with the grace of God and for my husband and I to have a peaceful amicable settlement in our separation. I was always taught and I always believed that marriage is “Till Death Do Us Part” but I guess for some people its just a disposable thing that you can throw and change anytime its not useful anymore.

Thanks for reading and understanding my story. I’m sorry if I may seem to be washing my dirty linens in public.

Blessings to us all.

Merciful God please give strength and consolation to AprilSpring as she recovers from her husband’s betrayal and desertion.

If her husband will not permit renewal in his heart, then at least some day bring him back to faith and repentance.

Merciful God please help AprilSpring to face life with trust in You as she strives to live according to Your will.

Please bless her with all the support and grace she needs in this time and in the future.

Lord Jesus, I offer this intention to your most sacred heart

Our father who art in heaven
Hallowed be your name
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Lord, see that justice and love prevail in this trying situation. Send many graces to this man and woman and all involved, that they ever cultivate faith, hope, love, and joy. See that what was a marriage or non-marriage be brought to light and ever guide these souls with holy angels, that they might avoid and ever reject sin for love of the Father. Spare rays of your divine light into this woman’s life and all involved, that the dark paths of this fallen and perverted world be illuminated always. Have mercy, Lord. Our Lady, angels, and saints, pray with us. Amen.

To AprilSpring, myself and many other victims of desertion share your experience. The one who is leaving the marriage often expects that the other should accept the situation amicably and be willing to “move on”. We are left doubting ourselves and our insticts which are screaming “This is just not right!”. However, we know that if they want to leave and will not heed God and their marriage vows then we are utterly powerless.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I am so sorry, may God defend you and bring you peace and comfort at this time.

We take refuge under thy protection,
O holy Mother of God,

in their necessities,
but ever deliver them from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

O God, our refuge and our strength, source of all sincerity, listen to the sincere prayers of your Church: grant that what we ask for in faith we may effectively receive.

Praying that the Lord may strengthen you and grant you all necessary graces. Also praying for your husband.

…I always believed that marriage is “Till Death Do Us Part” …
My prayers and sympathies for this sad situation. 😦

Prayers for you as you as you are in this difficult transition to living our your marriage vows separated and divorced from your husband. Prayers that one day your husband will repent and you may re-unite with him.

Remember oh most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought they intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, of Virgin of Virgins, My Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petition but hear and answer me. Amen.
