What do you all think about people who are peer pressured and end up giving in to doing something that is bad, just to fit in or whatever the reason is. If in their hearts they do not intend to do the action, (ex- stealing, lying) but they do it because of peer pressure. Would the sin still be as bad as someone who intentionally wanted to do it?

It is still a sin because they are putting wanting to be in the “in” crowd before the Lord. They are turning their back on the Lord instead of standing up for what is right.

It would still be a sin. It might be somewhat less than if they had freely done it completely on their own, but I don’t think it would be to a significant amount.

For instance, if a person was being peer pressured into a mortal sin. I don’t think the fact that they are being peer pressured would be enough to make it a venial sin if they then did it.
