How long has Peggy Noonan been a Catholic? I saw her on EWTN a few weeks ago telling a really nice story about JPII, but I couldn’t tell if the story lead to conversion, or if she had been a life long Catholic.

Peggy N was raised in a nominal catholic home as I understand from an interview by R. Arroyo or some fellow Catholic. I love her telling of praying her rosary on the bus into downtown NYC.

Who’s Peggy Noonan?
Peggy Noonan writes a column for The Wall Street Journal. She is a very eloquent speaker and is most likely best known as being one of President Reagan’s speech writers. She just wrote a book called John Paul The Great and she was promoting the book on The World Over with Raymond Arroyo. That is on my must read list. I like her:yup: . I believe she is a cradle Catholic.

I like her also 🙂

Go to Amazon and check out her books.

Her Wall St. Journal column is available on-line.

Peggy Nonnan’s terrific!

I read her JP2 book and it’s great. It’s more of a reflection on what JP2 meant to her than it is about JP2 though. Still very much worth reading IMO.

Peggy Noonan was raised Catholic, left the Church, evangelized by Protestants, and became Catholic again. Her book John Paul the Great was wonderful. It is a great tract for Catholicism, the wisdom of JPII and for anyone looking for a relationship with and faith in Jesus. She shares her testimony (which is pretty racey) and how JPII led her back to the Catholic Church. She also shares the meaning of the Rosary and how her faith has grown because of it. I enjoy her column in the Wall Street Journal every Thursday. Her WSJ biography is here. I hope she visits my town for a book signing.

I went through an entire box of tissues with this book. I adore Peggy Noonan.

I just finished this book - I would highly recommend it. Peggy Noonan has always been one of my favorites. She is just a wonderful writer. She talks about what John Paul II meant to her. And she tells a wonderful story about the first time she would get to see him. A good read!

Thanks for noting that it is about what he meant to her. I hadn’t heard of her before, and someone recommended the book to me. Considering my source, I wasn’t sure it was worth my time, but you have all given pleasant reviews. I would have been disappointed if I had expected a more factual documentation. Thanks for posting your opinions on the book, friends.

I came to know of Peggy Noonan during the days of *The Passion * *of the Christ * controversies. She was quite a frequent guest on the night time cable news shows where everyone had very heated discussions, over the top opinions, and she always brought an air of calm and common sense to the discussions. I fell in love with her then and have been a fan ever since. I read her WSJ column every week, wouldn’t miss it for the world.

She’s a class act! :yup:
