Greetings all…

A priest at my parish is requesting that we sing a gospel acclamation for the Easter season…he sang it for me…the words are “This is the day the lord has made/alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia/Let us rejoice and be glad”.

Now, I don’t know if it’s a psalm refrain, or a gospel acclamation, or both.

He thinks it’s by Peloquin…but he wasn’t sure, and neither am I.

The notable part of the acclamation are the alleluias…each alleluia is a whole step? higher than the previous alleluia. He mentioned that hand clapping goes along with it (shrug).

If it’s not by Peloquin it’s of the same era/type. I’d appreciate any leads…worst case scenario I just make up chords for the tune that he thinks is correct. Thanks.

It’s Psalm 118:24.

The Peloquin version is on a list of songs from OCP, so look for it there.

If you want a nice Alleluia, give me Mozart!
