I went to my parish yesterday to make a confession. I found that the Archdiocese had just suspended all sacraments and services. Being the Easter season and being in the high risk age and compromised health demographics that COVID19 is most affecting, I am worried. So how does someone seek the forgiveness that is offered by Jesus through the priest when you cannot access that sacrament? Blessings and thanks in advance. Bruce

In the event that confession is not available can we go directly to God? Liturgy and Sacraments
You make an act of perfect contrition to tide you over until Confession is available again. You don’t have to worry about receiving Communion since it likely won’t be available during the time confession is not available in this instance. When confession becomes available again, you can go to confession.
CCC #1452
1452 When it arises from a love by which God is loved above all else, contrition is called “perfect” (contrition of charity). Such contrition remits venial sins; it also obtains forgiveness of mortal sins if it includes the firm resolution to have recourse to sacramental confession as soon as possible.

I’m in the same situation at the moment … I’m 59 and have 3 diseases that would cause my death if I get coronavirus … I’m afraid I won’t be able to get the last rites … but I will keep my faith in God that He will have mercy under the circumstances.
