Me and my father are going skiing,I was wondering is it ok for a friday penance that I offer a rosary or a chaplet of divine mercy, or would skiing be a grave sin.

I thought we are to practice self denial but I dont know if its requiered.

Speak with your priest; he can probably help you more than others regarding self denial and sin.I thought we are to practice self denial but I dont know if its requiered.

Fridays you are simply required to do a penance. Saying a prayer is a penance.I thought we are to practice self denial but I dont know if its requiered.
It seems to me your a bit scrupulous.
