hi everyone!
I was wondering if anyone knew of discernment retreats for women coming up in pennsylvania, new jersey, or new york? With a traditional women’s religious order (wears the habit, prays as a community, etc)
thank you so much!

Hi Cecelia,

Once you are in the link (below), just scroll down until you find the states for which you are currntly seeking Retreats.

daughterofmary, where did you find out about the franciscan sisters’ retreat? I couldn’t find any information on it.
thank you 😉
The Sisters don’t post the information on their website. It was only through talking to their vocations director, Sr. Francis, that I found out the dates of the retreat. If you are interested in attending, you must call her and talk to her first. 👍

If you are willing to go to western PA, you will find the Benedictines at St. Emma Monastery. They are traditionally habited with full prayer and community life and observe constitutional enclosure. Because they operate a retreat house, they interact with the public and have a huge number of volunteers who help with keeping up the retreat facilities.

Go to the vocations link on their webpage for information on discernment events, good luck

The Poor Clares in Langhorne ¶ do not offer retreats per se, but they do have facilities for a person to stay.

I went last summer. I was there to visit my friend who is a Poor Clare. I thought it would just be a nice place to stay while I was visiting, but I very much enjoyed the silence and praying with the community - Liturgy of the Hours, Mass. I was free to participate as much or as little as I wished. I met with my friend at specified times to visit, but the rest of the time was left to my own devices.

There is nothing on their website about retreats, but there is contact info. www.poorclarepa.org
