Is there a book or brochure I can recommend to my confirmation class about Pentecostal so they learn differences (as seen by Catholics) ? It looks like some of them had already exposure to them

Call your Diocesan Office, or check their website, for the name of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal liaison for the Diocese. She or he would be a good source for information. You could ask for a speaker. You may also ask for the nearest Catholic Charismatic Renewal parish group. Note: In some Dioceses, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal may be under the Vicar for Spirituality or something similar.

This official website is an excellent source of information, including the history of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. It offers small and large publications.

The major difference is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacraments.

I suggest sending them all an email with these links, below, saying that you know that some of them know Pentecostals, and their wonderful faith in Our Lord, and that they should know what it is about Catholic that is MORE OF JESUS than the Pentecostal faith. And that these ex-Pentecostals can tell them!

The reason why I suggest the email link is that a lot of young folk these days don’t’ read any more than they have to. Plus some people just learn better by listening. Since most of them have iPhones, they can click on a link and listen any time! Or maybe on TV, with their parents. (many have their TVs connected to Youtube).

Tell them there is lots more from all kinds of converts, many of whom were Protestant pastors and converted at great worldly cost to themselves, which can be found easily on the side of those pages, but tell them you hope they will listen to one, and that you would like them to share with you if they do. (you can ask that person to tell the class about it afterwards, and even a brief positive mention might inspire others to listen).,

Then, most importantly, pray they will take the time to listen to one, instead of the many things less edifying for young people to watch and listen to these days.

Or, better yet, you might even want to have them vote on one to watch during one of your classes. Serve popcorn. 🙂 Your “guest speaker” for the evening! (If you have a strict schedule to follow, try to consolidate some of the material, and ask them to help you do it so you can all enjoy the presentation on one of the class nights.
